We are working on a non-RPG title. Though "True Fantasy Online" has been cancelled. It has inspired us to make something new. This isn't "True Fantasy". More of a spiritual successor.

Naked Snake said:Oops, I read that as Factor 5, sorry my bad.

(They consider Rogue Galaxy a rpg yes?)

That looks gorgeous, I really want to play Rogue Galaxy now.SolidSnakex said:Come on Rogue Galaxy 2!

Amir0x said:Well, this thread was posted recently and also has comments from Dorimaga. And Akihiro Hino did comment, but it doesn't say that Level 5 is focusing on PS3. According to the comments in the other thread:
But, so I guess this is new... or at least a new translation.

Speevy said:Level 5 is probably my favorite Japanese developer at the moment, so I can say that whatever platform they support will benefit from it.
As posted in this thread:mrkapawutzis said:I thought they were still going to make that MMORPG for Xbox? If not, what are the odds of it being ported to the PS3?
I'd say MS owns TFLO anyway. We are working on a non-RPG title. Though "True Fantasy Online" has been cancelled. It has inspired us to make something new. This isn't "True Fantasy". More of a spiritual successor.

Next Gen said:Level-5 is running a more serious, revealing recruitment ad in this month's issue. Maybe the cryptic illustration of a bird in last week's issue didn't do much for the team; they probably got far fewer applicants than they wanted.
Rumors are they're planning an expansion soon -- attempting something of a worldwide operation. Rumors are they want to self-publish. As it stands, with Dragon Quest VIII on their resumes and Rogue Galaxy a qualified hit (as in, it sold about half a million copies, which is good enough to be "qualified" yet not enough to be a "smash"), they're earning the identity they're going to need to really jump out there.
Head guy Akihiro Hino has said that he wants to stress the name of the studio over the name of any one franchise -- that he wants the next Level-5 game to be known as "The Next Level-5 Game," and not just "Rogue Galaxy 2" -- and this is a wholly agreeable sentiment. It would, alas, be more agreeable if they were to first have a bunch of successful franchises. Modern business is harsh on entrepreneurs...
