It seems they mixed it. When at the hostess club, you'll see the live action. but if you go out, it seems they switch to 3D model. You can see some girls at the end of the trailer, but I'm not sure if they are the same as the hostess club girlsI wish they'd stuck with in-game engine hostesses. Live action seems less amusing and more creepy, but maybe that's just me.
Otherwise, all looks great. Day one.
They say it's special trial version, so most likely it's a demoI wonder if the Infinite Wealth thing are just extra scenes, or something playable.
Western audience that mostly (by a large margin) buys digital nowadays?A shame this isn't getting a physical version. The franchise has a western audience not sure why they're pulling this digital only crap again
Is no physical release confirmed even in Europe? Or Asian Edition with at least subs?Erase your past to protect your future..... and become Alan Wake.
As much as I love Yakuza no physical release means no buy for me even though I've done it in the past with Yakuza 5 on PS3 digital. It does look cool but two things really bother me.
1.The live action hostess shit is stupid, they should have kept the in game models.
And the most annoying...
2.The "Agent" style of fighting where Tojo Clan's 4th Chairman apparently turns into Sonic the fucking hedgehog and spin dashes around punks.WTF is this shit.
Oh well,at least I still have Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 0 as the GOATs.

The Western audience that still buys physical versions when given an opportunity. I don't see Nintendo or Sony complaining about Western physical sales.Western audience that mostly (by a large margin) buys digital nowadays?
Thanks man!Truth, you can always get the Japanese version off of PlayAsia, shit thats what I did lol

It's coming out in 2024 and called Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, not much footage to show but it continues the story of Ichiban. What happened to the turn based sequel to like a dragon? Is that still coming out?
I would guess so too as it's priced at $50 on PSN.This is a gaiden game aka spinoff game, most likely it'll be smaller scale. Maybe that's why it's digital only
They said roughly a half of the mainline game.I would guess so too as it's priced at $50 on PSN.
Throughout the article, Yokoyama remarks how Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is not large in scale, and the length of the story is still being adjusted, but it’s stated to likely be around half the length of a mainline title.
I just checked on Xbox app and my play time with Y6 was 45 hours, about the same with the Judgment games iirc but the PS app doesn't show how much hours played. So half of that and probably in the zone of 20 hours to do main quests and side quests... not bad. They said roughly a half of the mainline game.
A lot of the long time fans would have like a physical option I am sure. They could have maybe done SE or something for that.Western audience that mostly (by a large margin) buys digital nowadays?

I still think they should have kept to in-engine animation. IMO of course.I was browsing resetera for laughs and some weirdos there said they feel unconfortable watching these live actresses lmao, bunch of clowns
Eh? This game is basically made as the justification of Kiryu's return as he will be the second protagonist in the next mainline game. They already sent him off in Yakuza 6, in the worst way imaginable, now they are desperately trying to revert it back.Looks awesome. Sort of feels like... RGG is giving Kiryu a fun send off. A ton of old and new things for Kiryu to engage in before as his story comes to a close to make way for Ichiban. Not really sure about the live action hostesses. I'd much rather Yuki come back and we train a gaggle of new girls to take down some asinine cabaret syndicate while getting blasted with As You Like on loop. That's the dream.
Kiryu might be costarring in yakuza 8 but ichiban is definitely the lead moving forward. But there are still plenty out there like myself no doubt that would love to have one last run with our boy Kiryu.Eh? Yes, Like a Dragon 8 is still coming, after this game. That's why they included the demo for it in this game. What happened to the turn based sequel to like a dragon? Is that still coming out?
He still appeared in Y7 though... There's a possibility that the new RGG staff still want to things with Kiryu.I wonder if they're afraid of letting Kiryu go because it would impact sales. IMO Y7 proved they can do without him.

The "trick" is if you buy $100 worth of stuff, base shipping is free. Except I never use base shipping. Well played, Play-Asia!

Just did this again a few weeks back. This is giving me an excuse to pick up more physical titles, lol. Finally grabbed FF Pixel Remaster collection this time.
They might have it, check if it's still in stock.lol damn, I should have did that.
I'm also trying to get a copy of FF Pixel Remaster Collection, but I'm looking for the PS4 version.
look like it is nearly confirm it would have english as well.
Yakuza is also not fit though. Kiryu got out of the yakuza clan in the first game. Ichiban also got kicked out from the clan1/10
Because of rebranding. "Like a Dragon" not only sounds dumb as it can, it also should have never happened.
BTW I'm still playing the older games, I'll reach there some day!
From the trailer, the visual looks like Dragon Engine.Currently playing Ishin and loving it, this is already preordered. The Yakuza 8 demo is a nice extra.
Is this game based on Dragon Engine or UE like Ishin? Ishin looks great although there's the usual texture loading issues typical of UE.
Not that I feel uncomfortable with it exactly, but I really hope that stuff is all optional. My wife and I have been playing through these games together - and while she's not exactly a prude, we watched the video in the OP together and I got the impression from her that she was disappointed that it was included in what looks like an otherwise good entry in the series.I was browsing resetera for laughs and some weirdos there said they feel unconfortable watching these live actresses lmao, bunch of clowns
I wanted to get the physical Asia version, but with tax and shipping, it ends up at $90.Even at 50~75% of a proper RGG game length, factoring in all the side shit you can do, this will easily be a 30~ hour game.
Looking forward to it. The only question is if I'll cave in and get the physical import or use my bounty of reward money to get it 'free' digitally.
