these special edition controllers as of late have been pretty lame.

I've always felt like most PlayStation controller designs look thrown together — nothing about them feels intentional. At this point Sony should let AI generate them. Meanwhile, Xbox has been putting out great designs for years, and you can even build your own. For whatever reason, Sony's controllers never tempt me to buy a new one, but somehow I've ended up with six or seven Xbox controllers.
