Live A Live - a bunch of new trailers

TintoConCasera

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Apparently there was a livestream earlier today and some new footage was shown in the form of charcter trailers.

So yeah, here you go:

Game looks cool, I love the HD/2D style Square seems to be pushing for their remakes. Can't wait to try this one out.

Day one for me. Loved every single HD-2D game so far. Already pre-ordered it.

Hopefully Chrono Trigger HD-2D is coming soon. They're got to be thinking about it pretty hard.

Stop that, or I'll be the one coming soon. :goog_relieved:

Nah but jokes aside, yeah, it should be a no-brainer.

Maybe they want to give more priority to remaking their lesser know titles? Maybe we end up seeing, I dunno... Treasure of the Rudras HD-2D? It would be a cool way to get those titles on the spotlight they deserve, and for someone like me that hasn't played them (or at least not beaten) it'd be a good excuse to do so.

That would be neat too! Dragon Quest III on the way. I have a feeling they'll just keep pushing more of these, and it's fine with me. Just hit everything on SNES. This would actually get me to rebuy FFIV for the .... (SNES, GBA, DS, PSP) ... 5th time.

I'm kind of interested in this game but my only problem is it's coming out way too close to Xenoblade 3 and most likely I'm going switching between playing this game and MHRise Sunbreak.

Still looking insanely cool. Maybe not day 1 for me because I already have way too many titles in my backlog, but will still get it at one point.

The only drawback is the new artstyle for the illustrations. SE kept nothing of the original artworks of the mangakas who worked on the original game.

Day 1. I'm a big fan of the SNES version. While it feels a bit pricey, I know that I like the game enough to get it. I always wanted an official, so I'm putting my money where my mouth is.

Never played the original, how is it?

If it's cool and kinda challenging, and all down for a day 1 get.

More or less went unnoticed in the West at its original JP release back in 1994, it became a critical darling of the early retro scene when it was rediscovered back in 2002-2008.

It's a good game from the classic Square era, with an interesting gimmick and drama, and some of the historical settings used were unusual for a RPG at that time (some of them still are).

There are 8 different scenarios, all based during different time periods, but I won't go deeper than that due to spoiler reasons. I liked the combat. It's turn-based, you can move on a grid. Some scenarios let you have a party of characters, while others, you play solo. There can be different gimmicks, too. For example, you can do the ninja scenario without killing any humans. One chapter has you participate in a tournament, and in the pre-historic chapter, no one actually talks. Combat itself is not super hard. I'd say that if you've played a lot of jrpgs, you will be okay. There might be some challenge, in some chapters, but difficulty is probably not the main thing of this game. As long as you have proper gear and have leveled up enough, you should be fine.

I really like the concept of the game, and most of all, I love the soundtrack.

English versions.

The below video has combat gameplay.
58:17 to 1:05:42 – Present Day Gameplay
1:05:42 to 1:30:16 – Twilight of Edo Japan Gameplay

wait, did they just spoil UODO ??

Seriously though, I can't wait!

Treasure of the Rudras is a perfect candidate for the HD-2D treatment. I had never thought about it before.

I still can't believe Square Enix has revealed the Oersted chapter. It's supposed to be hidden.

Maybe there's a new secret chapter this time around?

Was the original game well received? Admittedly, this is one of SE's games I've never even looked at until the announcement trailer came for the remake. I'll be all over this day one based on that trailer.

Most impressions from the original, that I have read are positive. My opinion is the same. I enjoyed the original, and I pre-ordered the physical edition, yesterday.

Trailers from yesterday:

I plan on picking this up at launch.

EDIT: Maybe these aren't new, but noticed they were new on Nintendo channel.

OK. How is this pronounced? 'Live a Live' as in 'Liv a Liv'? which makes no sense OR 'Live a Live' as in 'Live Alive'? Which makes more sense? I hear the former more than the latter but 'Live Alive make more sense

This game is worth it just for the Oersted and Distant Future chapters alone.

O.D.I.O.

I think this is correct and that's how I've said it.

The creators don't reveal how to pronounce it because it spoils the games' biggest twist.

I tried the game with the shinobi. Really liked it.
Lots of different gameplay mechanics, sometimes a bit destabilizing, but very fresh.

The music is absolutely amazing.

This is the slowest moving game I've ever played. It's actually insufferable. I quit about 15 seconds after taking control of the character, as the input lag sealed the deal. Glad there was a demo otherwise I would have wasted money.

hd-2d looks alright but ive never even heard of this game wtf its a remake ?
The original was a classic on the SFC but never made it out of Japan
