I'm taking any reccomendations similar to the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Elliott Smith and Damien Rice.

I'm in a mellow mood this week ;)

I've been trying to pimp Dean Friedman for awhile now. He had one single released(back in the 70s) which you might recognize. "Ariel" - I'd also suggest you check out "Solitare" and "Company"

Tell me what you think.

Sufjan Stevens - Greetings From Michigan: The Great Lakes State

I believe at least one of the songs was even written by Elliott Smith, and there may even be some guitar playing of his on the cd (not sure about that though)
Man, this cd takes me back to freshman year fives years ago like nothin' else. *sniff*

And if you like Beck - Mutations, the album Sea Change is also a really good one.

The Band. Unless you just forgot to mention them.

Many like their self-titled album the best, but I prefer Music from the Big Pink.

And then there is the Martin Scorcese documentary, The Last Waltz, effectively the last performance of the band, with performances by many of the people you mentioned.

Also check out Gordon Lightfoot.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
If you don't have Nick Drake's Pink Moon, get it now. It might be just what you're looking for.
