Well, I am going to go against the grain and say that
I can see things playing out differently.. but just a gut feeling. It would set up some interesting things.
Ethan will be the one who dies.
The episode? Entertaining. But, I can see that if people dislike the back story that it might have seemed tedious. Still, I think it was a neat setup and if my antenna hadn't been VERY finicky I might have really enjoyed it. But alas, I enjoyed the back story immensely. I think it's very interesting to realize what motivates these people to do what they do. See: Charlie, and his actions between now and Claire's disappearance.

Well, to be honest I had imagined it would play out differently, but hey I got a warm fuzzy feeling from calling it. =-)
Anyways, the interesting thing that killing him off did was create a void in the 'this character is clearly evil'. Things are now much more in the grey area, and I think that is much more interesting then getting everyone to rally around the one obvious bad guy. Also, it'll leave the explanations to come from more unexpected ways. I imagine we will eventually get back to finding out whatever under that hatch, and that's where we will find more answers.

This episode flew by for me, I only thought a half hour had passed by the time it was finished.

Interesting ep, even though I really didn't need to know any more about the rock star and his bad habits. The preview for next week, though....
Whoops. I guess giving Sawyer a gun was a bad idea, because he's obviously pretty damned sore about the whole torture thing. Who takes the first bullet in the leg? Jack or Sayid?
I felt this episode didn't seem realistic. When they ambushed Ethan, it was basically a 1on1 fight between him and Jack while the rest where doing a defensive stance around them. It didn't look right. Damn too bad the korean guy was injured, if they only knew he was an assassin. Imagine him with a gun would be awesome.
I think Ethan knew that he had already lost, even if he had defeated Jack, he would have to tangle with four(!) other people who were surrounding him and had him quite outgunned. It was a lost cause to him, he realized he had been outmaneuvered and just rolled with the punches. He was beaten and accepted it.

I thought it was a good episode....I liked the backstory in this one (though I disliked Charlie's previous saturday morning special one), especially the payoff at the end (should have seen it coming though).

I hope they can do some more interesting things with Sawyers background. They seemed to kind of play out most of his story the first time they focused on him. Guess we shall see.
As for Jin, I would definately like some more background on him as we mainly focused on Sun ealier and just got some small info on his background. Definately should be interesting, but the real crime is that we have had to wait almost till the end of the season for Hurley's backstory. He rocks, and they definately should do more with him. Keeping my fingers crossed that his background ep will add some decent info.

So wait.. we are still expecting one of the main cast to die off? No offense, but if they were going to do that, they should stop fucking around with all of these 'near' death, or 'imagined' death episodes.
