I'm supposed to have dinner at my Godfather's house tonight so I have to remember to record it.

Tivo is your friend! ;)

But seriously, I'm so geeked for the final few episodes of the year. I know the season cliffhanger is going to be brutal and we're all going to hate having to wait 3 months to see what's going on.

Only 3 months? Really? That's not too bad at all.

That said, we need more Claire flashbacks. Because that means more screentime for Claire. And that means Mike is happy for the rest of the day no matter what.

I was distracted a lot while watching this, but it really didn't seem like I missed much.

Next week though oh my god

Filler episode, definitely. But Kate is almost enough to make a gay boy convert.

And yes, the preview for next week was worth the watch.

The thing with Lost is they ALWAYS end with either a dun dun DUN ending (ie the window in the bunker lighting up with Locke is kneeling over it) or at least an impact ending where you feel something for a character or character development. They should've (tonight's episode spoilers ahead matey)
ended with Walt saying, "We have to leave the island" or whatever he said, except have him say it a little more.. menacing or sure of himself or something like that. Instead the producers/director wanted to hit home how Kate lost someone she loved or whatever, and I'm sorry, maybe it's because I've watched the first season of Firefly this past week, but I'm having trouble feeling for women who constantly lie, about their identities, or whatever.

That said, it was a pleasant surprise that the light shined on
Walt
for the surprising revelation. And next week looks awesome. I know most weeks look awesome from the preview, but I didn't think this episode was going to be much special judging from the preview it got last week, so here's hoping.

As someone who likes the back stories, this was a good episode. We learned why Kate had the airplane, who she "killed"...and yet we still don't know what her initial crime was. I think that left it nice and interesting for the future.

I concur on the final two scenes...but this was more filler than it was plot, and it was, indeed, a Kate episode. So, shock of shocks, it ended on Kate. I think this was a good move for the character...it gave us a glimpse of her life and what she left behind. The Walt scene was much more interesting, you're right, but there is three whole hours to get into that. It's very interesting that it was his sensing of the hatch that changed his mind, but in the end it was one of the more insulated Episodes. As one of those however, I think it was quite well done.

I just hope season 1 doesn't continue to tease us, and ends with a shot of the hatch opening, even though that's probably going to happen :(

Wait...did I miss something? When did the light
shine on Walt?
or was that in the teaser for next week's episode?

I hope the monster comes back next week.......

ohh ok, yeah, now that I reread what Mike wrote it makes sense.

It was nice to see Charlie's guitar again after it was so important way back in his addiction episode. Though it'll suck for him when he breaks a string.

Okay episode, but a little weak after the last few. Nice to finally know where the plane came from.

3 more episodes, yes?

next week is the start of Exodus

Two I believe. But the finale is two hours. So it's worth three.

I thought it was a solid episode with some character development and the setup of the raft's launch. It was definitely better than some other episodes, specifically the Charlie duo and the first Sawyer one. I really liked Locke and Jack knocking each other a bit over the secrets they've kept.

We got an introduction to a new island character as well, which I think is always cool.
He's apparently going to be a series regular next year, and will be around for the rest of this season.

On the new character bit, I didn't really like how they did it, but there isn't really a good way to go about it. The whole have the character talk and then have sawyer yell out stuff they had known about him for some time but is news to us thing was funny.

Does anybody know if he had been an extra before?

EDIT: also when saywer first confronted michael about the shit they were taking on the raft was that locke that walked behind them with a suitcase or another bald man. what was in that I wonder?

I saw a younger bald/shaved head guy helping out with the raft at one point, so I imagine it was him and not Locke.

This was a solid, if not spectacular, episode. It advanced things a bit, but not enough to get to excited. I thought we'd finally see them launch the boat, and maybe learn a little more about the Hatch, but really it was more about the personal interaction and conflicts than anything else. Walt was giving off a freaky vibe for sure though.

Yep, we're down to two episodes, but three hours of Lost in this season. The season finale is two hours long and is said to end with a bang. The show creators have called it a "Who Shot JR" moment. After that I'm guessing we won't see any new episodes until September, so I suppose it's more like four months.

After talking with someone else I realized that the Canadian preview had something that the American preview didn't,
the French lady telling them that "the others" were coming to take Claire's baby the same way they took her baby
.

What do you guys think is in the hatch?
I think it's either bees or an army of polar bears.
Or polar bears with bees in their mouths and when they roar they shoot bees at you.

Decent episode, good tragic backstory on the little diecast plane that Kate has (which adds a rotten edge to that sweet face). Most of the major players got some sharp moments there, from Sawyer aggressively boxing out of the corner he thought Kate was putting him in to the back-and-forth between Jack and Locke.

Kate did put him in the corner. She just got someone else to do it for her.

Yeah she was helping someone by pushing them towards something that would greatly benefit her... kinda shady. Not terrible for someone who is in a desperate situation though.

So,
Kate's Dad abused her and she killed him is the reason she has been on the run? That's kinda what I got from the episode

Where did you get that from? I musta missed it. Oh....unless you meant tyhe tape in the time capsule. Yeah, that part did kinda remind me of
Jenny from Forrest Gump
. But it could be something else.

I wonder what Kate did to her mom? Or did her mom just think Kate was going to
do to her what Kate did to her dad

The more I think about this episode the more I liked it. It was cool to see some past stuff come back, like the drowned lady's id, the guitar, the secrets Jack/Locke kept form each other, ect.

Also, was it just me or did Shannon look evil as hell after Sawyer revealed Kate's secret to everyone? Does Shannon even have any 'friends' left on the island?
maybe she will help "the others" as a way to get back at everyone for not letting her get revenge on Locke.

First snore episode of lost I would say. The best part was the preview of next week. That preview set the bar pretty fucking high for next week. My expectations are so freaking high I am expecting the best season finally since the borg took over picard or season 1 season finally of B5.

Yes, I thought
the time capsule tape + her mom being terrified of her were pretty direct hints. Also, it's all in the character they are building for Kate... She's not evil per se.. she just values her own survival well above anything else.
