On February 11, 2022 explore the massive world of Arkesia in an epic MMO action RPG. The battle between order and chaos has created a land full of mystery and magic. But the war isn't over. The demons of Kazeros will stop at nothing until Arkesia falls. Find the The Ark to end the madness.

Looks like this one isn't getting much GAF hype? I played briefly on the Russian servers yesterday, and it looks pretty promising. It's been receiving praise from all around and seems to be a hit in Korea, so I thought I would give it a shot. Graphics are on point, gameplay seems fun and there's even native controller support (albeit not perfect) for blasphemers like me. I'll be waiting until the official US release to actually play through it though.

Definitely looking forward to this!

I played for a bit on the Russian servers and also participated in both beta tests last year and I really enjoyed my time with it. I love ARPG's and I also love MMO's and this kinda combines both into one, although the game plays more like a traditional MMO than it does an ARPG. Pretty excited for the US release next month and already have a founders pack on pre-order.

maaneee... ive been seen and dabbled in this game for so long. Its nice its getting a US release.
I don't have to jump trough fire hoops to play.

The game has a lot of hype around it from those familiar with it since it was revealed years ago, but Amazon hasn't exactly done a good job marketing it to those not already familiar with it.

I played the beta, and after waiting 5+ years to play the game, was extremely disappointed. The amount of time it took me to get through the opening tutorial and intro town "flow" was insane. At one point I think I had spent around 15 minutes just being passed between townsfolk to learn how to /dance, /cheer etc etc.
I wanted an awesome D3 replacement and the beta soured me on the entire experience.

Anyone who got through the initial "tutorial stuff", is the over world exploration and fighting as good as it looked several years ago? The limited healing potions and other perceived gating mechanics (again...I was only exposed to the currency system during the tutorial and it was expansive) seem like they would ruin the loot fest. I hope I am wrong and am hopeful other folks on 'Gaf can share a more positive experience.

(Full disclosure I did buy the $100 Steam version several months ago as my hype level was over...well apparently 100...so I am not just swooping and pooping here. I was genuinely excited for the game and had followed it for several years)

I wouldn't mind giving it a try with a controller. Was looking forward to this game years ago then it kinda disapeared. Saw some end game content recently though and it looked very punishing with frequent very unforgiving insta-wipe mechanics. Here's hoping not ALL endgame encounters are musical chairs and/or whack-a-mole with 2 secoond safety windows before raid-wide wipes across multiple phases. They need some casual meat in that bone.

I was more excited for this than anything else when it was first revealed as I really like Diablo style ARPGs but considering it's a F2P MMO and the negativity surrounding Korean ones especially has lowered my expectations a lot since. I'd still give this a try on release.

Whoops, must have missed that one, even after doing a search. Glad to see there's some hype!

I didn't play much since I'll just be playing through it again in a few weeks, but isn't there a Skip Tutorial option available?

You can skip the cut scene dialogue, but if there is an option to skip the whole tutorial flow in the first town I missed it. Hopefully there is one and I just missed it.

Right when you get off the boat, there's a "Skip Prologue" option. I'm not sure if this is something that was added recently;

Good lord the advertising for this game has been anemic. Perhaps there is fatigue on the part of Amazon, which is sad because having played both NEW WORLD and LOST ARK, LOST ARK should have been the better bet (not the NW is doing poorly. . .commercially).

. . .hopefully this picks up and they get the numbers they are looking for. Honestly not sure why they wouldn't given how highly rated the game has been.

I'm pretty excited for this MMO. I've been waiting since it was announced like in 2014 and finally we're getting it in the West.

As far as I know LA is S. Korea most popular MMORPG for about a year or 2

Can't wait. I don't get excited for MMORPGs, but the aesthetic and action on this look amazing. I wish Final Fantasy XIV was like this. I would definitely play it.

Godspeed to those playing. Might have done myself at a different release time but it just doesn't shake out for me. Few people from my regular Discord are gonna go in hard.

I was all over this back in 2016... Now I've grown up and I can't afford the time to do the endless farming it requires, also, sold my PC for a XSX

But, if you like diablo, this is looking hot

And so many watching people who can't even get in, like myself still unpacking
Same here, steam is borked for sure :D
But it's pretty safe to say that the hype for this game is real!

Played the beta and it was pretty decent, didn't put a ton of hours into it because i just wanted to try it out.
It will last me 17 days at least, then it's game over for any other game than Elden Ring.

Yeah, I guess I wildly underestimated how much word of mouth they had going for them. Half a million people on right now. I honestly am thinking of just peacing out on Friday. There's no way you're going to be able to get in (although if they are able to handle 500K right now maybe it won't be so bad)?

. . .also the game is fucking great. Generic-ish story (with decent VA work), but the combat is off the charts. I tried GUNNER and god bless the folks who have the mental-APM to handle that class.

In the latest Lost Ark April Update, Battle for the Throne of Chaos, a new Female Martial Artist class has been introduced: The Glaivier. Using her spear and glaive she can unleash a fury of powerful attacks from a mid-range distance. Her stance chance mechanic allows for a wide variety of moves to be used which get buffed the longer she remains in each stance. While in the fury stance she can unleash a flurry of quick attacks, but the focus stance has more powerfully lethal sweeping attacks. These 8 minutes of Glaivier gameplay in a Chaos Dungeon and Guardian Raid show off her skills in battle.

Check out 11 minutes of Lost Ark gameplay of the new Warrior Advanced Class, the Destroyer!

A new advanced class for the Warrior, the Destroyer uses a giant hammer alongside concentration skills, that you then unleash using gravity skills. Slow and powerful, you can control crowds with charge attacks, and deal massive damage with leap attacks. Destroyer is one of the new classes to come in Lost Ark, the action-focused MMORPG. We hope you enjoy this new Lost Ark gameplay!
