The Vines will probably never 'tour' again with lead singer Craig Nicholls diagnosed with neurobiological disorder Asperger’s Syndrome. NME is reporting that the band will start working on a new album, but no time limit with the addition of Nicholls problem. While I thought The Vines sucked in concert when I saw them, but Winning Days is a REALLY good album.

Jonny Greenwood and Jarvis Cocker will have a cameo in the next Harry Potter film.

Rufus Wainwright hated Jeff Buckley. How sad.

The Arcade Fire show is going to rule!

The Vines were one of the worst bands to emerge from the last three years.

Jarvis Cocker is old news, but Jonny Greenwood is appearing? Haha, the man is so hush and muted with his voice.. should be interesting.

Eh... who is Rufus?

Modern indie music tends to suck.

WOW GOOD NEWS WHERES SOURCE?

Rufus Wainwright had a very nice voice but also seemed to be quite the pretentious prick a lot. Jeff > Rufus.

The Vines can go shove it, saw them here in Australia back before they went big and Craig pissed me off with his fake drunken stupor act. There were some decent songs but most were tripe.

Heard about Mr Greenwood in Harry Potter, playing a part of the witches band or something?? I'm not too sure but it sounds quite hilarious :lol

Yeah, I've read interviews and heard from a friend who saw the Vines and said they were all high and/or intoxicated. Seems like a lame bull shit rock and roll rebellion wannabe act.

*******
Not from NME, but from (near) the horse's mouth.

Here's a tidbit: I just spoke with a friend/ collaborator of Kim Deal. Apparently, Frank is still an asshole and (at least in part) because of this, a new Pixies album is all but out of the question. Kim is looking to have another Breeders record ready for 2005 and may be doing some recording when the Pixies are in NYC.

Meh, nme online is great for news updates. They often scoop everyone. Pitchfork frequently dips from them, btw. Usually days and days after the fact.

Wainwright didn't *really* hate Buckley....

Memphis Skyline - This song is about Jeff Buckley. "I hated him when I first came to New York he was playing Sine, and they wouldn't book me. Years later, after my first album came out I met him. I was struck by both his darkness and frailty. When I covered Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" (for the Shrek soundtrack) I hadn't heard his version of it. I finally did hear it after he had died, and I had this out of body of experience. I felt the loss of his voice and there's still a tremendous sadness that we'll never be able to sing together."

I thought that as well, but then I took a listen to Winning Days, which is actually a very good album. They are typed with The Strokes and stuff, and they really aren't.
