I'm guessing that A. It's going to suck (anime game + launch era game!) and that B. It's only going to have characters up to where the anime is aka.
Only through first entering soul society, so I doubt any of the taicho will be playable unless its Byakuga and I don't see any fuku-taicho besides Renji being playable.

Still have it pre-order because I'm a sucker, so hopefully it turns out ok.

Pretty likely. Most anime fighters tend to be first and foremost a vehicle to live out dream matches between characters of the anime. Gameplay only needs to be competent to sell.

Any relation to the GC/PS2 Naruto fighters here>?
Bleach is SCEI IIRC. Naruto games are Eighting (Bloody Roar). The PS2 Naruto game(s) might have a different developer (Dream Connect?)... i can't remember offhand.

i like fighting games in general.

and having nice one on PSP would be nice.

but i want Tekken on PSP :(

So far I've seen the very first 20 chapters of Bleach and I can say that is great. But I think that a fighting game doesn't suite to it at all, specially when it results on a good vs. good, as in the serie there's not a real human-like enemie, it's all monsters, all different, and lots of them.

I think this anime/manga would suite better on a "scrolling" beat'em up, i mean something as Devil May Cry for example. Or maybe an RPG.

This is not the case of the naruto Series in which the battles are longer and against human-like enemies with own tecniques, moves and all.

PS : Sure the serie for the chapter 40th it'll have fights similar to te naruto ones, but the game characters are only the ones of the very begining.

PS2 : Anyway, the game looks graphically good.

Those screenshots remind me of this PSOne game... I first played it as an import and then later when it came to the US... very simplistic control system but the moves you executed on screen looked so cool... I can even hear the theme music in my head... Eret... Eretzvaju! An in the US it was called Evil Zone... again very simplistic ... but still had fun with it. Really liked the opening and closing themes....

It's actually Sega. There was a Bleach game announced for most all the consoles when the license was announced.
Nope. Sega's making Bleach games for GBA/GC/DS while SCEI makes them for PS2/PSP. Guess nobody bopthered to grab the rights on Xbox. :)

Ahh that's odd. I did a search just now on google and one place said Sega was doing the PS2 version as well.. I wonder why they would have let SCEI get the PSP rights? Strange.

The character models don't look too bad. Can't say the same about the backgrounds...

And yeah, I have to agree that I don't think Bleach is well suited for a fighting game. Some of the characters just are just so outclassed and outmatched. I mean, Orihime? Come on.

Not to mention they'll probably only go to where the anime is, and that's not too far.

I'd be surprised if this game had more than 15 playable characters.

Eighting is developing Bleach for PSP and will, in all likelihood, develop the PS2 versions as well.

There was some speculation that it was Eighting before but it's nice to have a confirmation. Are they also behind SCEI's PS2 Bleach 3D adventure game?
