Dude what did I just see...

This is possibly the most hypnotic yet weird piece of cinema I've seen. I just felt so home with the characters (I can not see Jeff Bridges in any other role after seeing this - he was born to be the dude). The movie should win all the casting awards there are.

Also prior to seeing the movie, I always thought this was a movie about bowling and that John Turturro had a large role to play in this - but seriously was dissapointed by the amount of Jesus we saw. I guess the bit role added to the charm of the character, as I wanted to see more.

So what are you saying? When you get divorced you turn in your library card? You get a new license? You stop being Jewish?

I first saw it about 6months. Awesome film, just how the dude keeps bouncing off more and more people and ends up in a vague position of power after at one point being totally fucked is just so awesome. He advances the plotline by doing very little at all :D

"Yeah, well, that's just like your opinion, man."

"SHUT UP, DONNY! You're outta your element!"

"We are nihilists. We care for nothing."

Lebowski has to take the cake for having the most quotable lines.

Damn I was gonna post a pic of Walter saying 'STFU up Donnie' and I stumbled upon these, damn they'd look great on my living room table.

I still skip over pretty much every scene that doesn't involve John Goodman. Every scene he's in is hilarious, but the only lines I even really remember outside of that is Philip Seymore Hoffman's "that had NOT occurred to us, dude" and the "you mean vagina?" bit with Julianne Moore. The movie totally bores me when Goodman's not in it.

I want to know the story behind Jesus's friend. He seems very straight laced... but what lies beneath that exterior? He must be messed up to be bowling buddies with Jesus.

Been considering showing this movie to my parents. But I'm not sure whether they would laugh hysterically or submit me to substance abuse.

I really think it's the best Coen brothers film, but... that's just like my opinion, man.

You see what happens when you find a stranger in the alps!?

I am actually quite curious now to find out what happens when you find a stranger in the alps.

One of the comments on that vid:

The Coen Brothers have always had in their contract complete control over the words used in a TV edit. They deliberately wrote that, and had the actual actors record the track. The Coen Brothers are hilarious.

Is this true?
