Lunar: Dragon Song

Mejilan

Running off of Custom Firmware
First major fantasy RPG on the DS.

First original Lunar game (in the West) in 12 years.

Is it REALLY coming out in 4 days??

Gamespot's impressions from 9/21 (I think) were quite positive! Game sounds quite neat. Definitely some new ideas there.

And it's Lunar! All I know of the story is that it revolves around Althena again. Works for me!!

$40 is too much for me, if there aren't any deals for the game during release week, I'll probably just get it during christmas.

I'm gonna wait to read a bunch of reviews, and if I read one and the reviewer sounds like me I will look to him to see whether or not I buy this.

Sometimes I see stuff in the screenshots that makes it look like a good ol' RPG and other times I see stuff that looks like shit. Like the battles primarily.

After playing Lunar Legend and coming to the conclusion that the series is way overrated, yet still mildly enjoyable, I think that Lunar: Dragon Song looks really cool. Especially, when compared to the first two games in the series.

To be fair, Lunar Legends was but a shadow of the Sega CD original and the PSOne remake, both.

Also... different developer, I think, no? The people responsible for the PSOne remakes of the first two Lunars, in conjunction with Game Arts, are making this newest one! Bodes well! The only thing missing is Noriyuke Iwadare's soundtrack... but considering how his music turned out in Radiata Stories and Grandia III... it might not be such a big loss as I first felt!

I just really thought the game would be delayed until next year. Didn't it only just come out in Japan?

Ubisoft's online store seems to list game as $30, not $40, btw.

I will purchase this game on release.

I know it will not be good, but damn if I'm a sucker for portable RPGs.

And if it's $30 everywhere(?), I guess that isn't too bad.

Has anyone even played it? Press? Japan? Hello?

Like demi, I am also a sucker for portable rpgs so I will be buysing this on release. Oh well seems it has a chance to be good and some seem to really like the other games, which I havent played. Guess I'll find out if its good soon enough.

I pre-ordered the game at Ubisoft's online store when I heard about its $30 price tag... based on what I've seen thus far, it looks like an interesting RPG. Hopefully it'll be worth the purchase when it's actually released.

I'm still pissed off about the sloppy and lazy production values. This game lookes far worse than any GBA RPG except pokemon, and that inexcusable.

Gamespot doesn't count. Fuck Gamespot.

I'm talking people like che, MarkMcD, skip, Kobun Heat, etc etc

MarkMcD > GameSpot? lolol.

I'm sure GS weren't LYING.

Good to have you back though.

Well I used him as an example, I really don't care what he has to say anyway. I just want to read what some regular GA posters and whatnot have to say about it.

Can't really deny that it looks subpar and sounds terrible from the gameplay videos I've seen. I'd love to be wrong though. :)
