MacBook Age- connecting to t.v.

I bought a DVI-D to HDMI converter to plug into my t.v. and while I got the image to display on the t.v. using mirror mode I can't get the sound to output through my t.v. Is there an option for that?

Edit: Wrong section. Can a mod move this please?

DVI-D only carries video. HDMI supports both, but in this case the cable is only transferring the video. You'll need to determine what your audio in options are and find a cable to go from your audio out/headphone jack to your TV.

You might be able to find an adaptor that combines DVI-D/3.5mm stereo out to HDMI for you.

You can run an aux cable from the computer to the TV to carry audio. I do this in conjunction with the DVI-HDMI converter and it works fine.

Ah, I see. Thanks a lot. Guess I'll just have to buy a USB media player.

My TV lets you select the audio input to use for the HDMI input. Check to see if your can. Then headphone jack -> y adapter -> composite audio jacks.
