Makai Kingdom question--reincarnation

(Why am I not going to GameFAQs for this? Because I want a common-sense answer, not an answer from some high-school dropout who plays the game for ten hours a day. I'm still on my first cycle through the game, and I'm not going for ultra-tweaked-out uber-characters--I'm just trying to get down basic strategy.)

So. If you can answer any or all of these, thanks in advance:

1. I have one character that has the option to "reincarnate" in the "make a wish" menu that you get when you click on the Sacred Tome in the overworld screen. Is reincarnation similar to transmigration in Disgaea--that is, the character gets a new class and gets bumped back to level 1, but with slightly increased stats that add up to a hefty bonus in the long run? (That's how I remember it working in Disgaea, at least--it's been a while.)

2. Do characters who are reincarnated retain any skills they had as a member of their original class?

3. What triggers the reincarnation option--why does only one of my relatively low-level characters have it, and not all of them? Is whatever variable it is specific to the class?

4. In general, when should one consider reincarnating a character?

1. Yes it works like it does in Disgeae, however you get to keep every skill you had without any loses to the skills, and you don't have to "pay" for them like PHantom Brave. You get a stat bonus based on how many "stars" you can gained through Reincarnation.

2. Yes all of them

3. When you are chosing to Summon a character to an object, if the object has a STAR on it, that means that person will be able to Reincarnate. THe more stars on the object, the better the stat bonus you will get.

4. ALWAYS

If I understand this correctly, you should always summon a new character to an object that has a star unless you have no other choice, because a character summoned to an object that doesn't have a star will never be able to reincarnate. In addition, if you reincarnate a character into a new object that doesn't have a star, that's it for him--no more reincarnations.

Is this right?

You are PARTIALLY correct. You can still re-incarnate characters without having to put Summon them into items with a star. If you have a character that does not have the "RE-incarnate" option, you can still reincarnate them. What you want to do is turn them into a building, at the early stages turning people into buildings will ALWAYS kill them (it does like 20,000 dmg). By killing them this way you can now re-create them into something else. HOWEVER you wont' get teh bonus to your stats like you would if they are been summoned into a item with a star

Thanks, flarkminator--that clears things up a lot.

One more thing, if your'e killing someone just to re-incarnate them, make the worst kind of building possible, that way it doesn't use up all of your mana. When you re-incarnate you keep all the mana you used to have.

flark, I got a dum-dum question for you. Can I reincarnate into any object or does it have to be a nature thing like a rock or anthill?

Any object, except vehicles, people, and buildings as far as I know. Though why you'd ever want to Summon into things like weapons and such is beyond me, usually you want to stick to nature items just because they give the best bonsus. Crystals for healers usually, Trees / Rocks for Fighters, plants for mages. Thats about it as far as I know.

With 1 exception, I Summon my Gun guys into Glasses just becauset he TEC bonus makes me wet in my pants. Something like 160%
