oh ye indie rock gods of GAF, recommed me some new music with which i can load up ye ol' MP3 player for auditory purposes. i lean toward indie rock/folk, but also have a healthy appetite for jazz (mostly bop and cool) and classical (baroque).

Zero 7 - Simple Things
Both of their albums are good, my favourite song is Destiny

Sasha - Involver
Get Involver. Amazing remix album. I wouldn't even call the songs remixes, since they sound nothing like the originals. The last two tracks are killer.

Like, Omigod! The 80's Pop Culture Box (7 Discs)
It's the 80s. The ultimate 80s boxset. Nothing else compares.

Get the new Doves album (titled "Some Cities"), it's sure to be one of the best of the year and possibly my AOTY. Just a fantastic album overall. Get (and by get I mean buy) it, you won't regret it.

Dice

Pokémon Parentage Conspiracy Theorist
They have been mentioned in other threads but Eisley is good.

Cardigans instrument tones + Sixpence composition (their slow songs at least) and supports + Hint of early Cranberries = Eisley

Yeah the Doves album is sexcellent. When I first heard "Black and White Town" I was shocked.
The whole thing is good. I love it. I think I've played the whole album like 10 times over now.

Thunderbirds are Now! - Justamustache

Yep, yep.

I have been trying to get people to listen to this, but nobody believes it's an actual album/band when I tell them to listen. Plus, after the first four seconds of the first song I usually end up getting hit...

But hardly indie-rock/folk or any of the other stuff you listed.

The Decemberists' Picaresque hits stores this month though, and that sure fits!

edit: Also P:ano "The Den" and Delgados "Universal Audio". Not particularly new (both released last year), but good.

I'm gonna pimp this album until I'm heard, DAMN IT. It's the most perfect fusion of rock and jazz and classical and ambient and noise I've ever heard, and Mark Hollis' vocals will break your f'ing heart.

Oh wait, you asked for new music. My mistake.

In that case...

Great understated indie chamber pop with some jazzy touches. It's the guy from the Sea and Cake, if that means anything to you.

I also really like the new Low, but I might be alone on that one. The Great Destroyer is its name.
