Dunno if anyone cares about Nintendo Power. Sorry if old.

Star Fox on the cover, reviewed, and a strategy section
Resident Evil 4 review (perfect) and strategy
Feel the Magic strategy
Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap review and strat
Super Mario 64 DS and Banjo Pilot strategy

Interview with Free Radical
Specials on MVP Baseball, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and the EA Street Games (foldout poster of Mario dunking on somebody)
Fight Night Round 2 article talking about Super Punch-Out
Wario-Ware Valentine's Day card

And that wraps up my Nintendo Power subscription (which I got for the Zelda Collector's Disc). Not quite the same mag it used to be. For long-time readers: when did NP start covering mature-rated games? Also, what's the story on those ocarinas from Songbird? The ad says they have nothing to do with Nintendo, but they at least have Nintendo's tacit approval because they're allowed to run their ad in NP.

They were covering mature rated titles when Doom 64 came out, because they ran multiple features on the game.

That's all I can remember

They've been in there for awhile, but it depends more on the game. I'm pretty sure Conker got scant coverage, whilst PD was huge.

Also, what's the story on those ocarinas from Songbird?

They started advertising after toot's release, I think because toot, exploded the demand for their product and they traced it back to Nintendo.

Anything interesting in the Free Radical interview? And just out of curiosity, what did they give Starfox?

Not really. However, I have not been following Free Radical or TimeSplitters, so I don't know if anything in the interview is new or interesting. The interview is with David Doak, a producer. He does comment that a high, consistent framerate is their main goal and he doesn't understand why other developers "devastate playability for the sake of graphics embellishments". Not sure if that was a dig at games like Halo or what :lol

Starfox got 4, 4, 5, 4, 4 (out of 5).

Yea, it's the content in the game that determines NP's stance on the game, not the M-rating itself. NP covered Perfect Dark, Twin Snakes, and RE4 fairly heavily but pretended Conker never released.

They're very careful with their coverage of mature rated games. I noticed all the screenshots of Resident Evil 4 showed no blood whatsoever and no one getting shot directly.
