Mario 128 for Revolution Launch (EGM)

I hear Duke Nukem Forever will be out for Revolution launch too.

And list the rest of the scores damnit.

I mean please.

I think he meant the 128 different Mario games will all be downloadable at launch. You know, Tennis, Baseball, Soccer, Golf, the 19 Parties, etc. A new platformer? Yeah right.

19 ????

they are only SEVENN !!!!

Killer 7(ps2/GC) - 5.5/5/6

HOLYSHIT you can't be serious. CAPBOMBA

Coded Arms (PSP) 4/6/3.5

ouch

I think nintendo might pull another suprise, just like the new Zelda.

Just like how most people weren't expecting anything, or at least a Wind Waker sequel, they pulled Mature Zelda out of nowhere.

Bah, that's just three grumpy men :(

And just like Famitsu why give the same scores to the two versions? From what I've heard the PS2 loading is atrocious and really hurts the games flow in comparison to the GC version. The GC one should at least be 1 point higher.

He's also mentions that he's working on a game about growing up and thinking more and that this game will have a wide target demographic. (just vague crap)

The thought of a new, big budget EAD title makes me happy.

Mario 128 and Smahs online at launch will warrant a sucessful launch...

neptunes, can you post the rumors? i'm too lazy to download the issue (mostly cause the stupid zinio app is on my laptop, too lazy to install :P)

Also, Meteos 9/9/9
Of course, Masahiro Sakurai made it and he works with Tetsuya Mizuguchi, and anyone working with him has to be a genius. And that he is, because he also invented Kirby and Smash Bros.

The fact they are sticking with the 128 (bit) moniker is disturbing... Implies the target group of game players they're after are still swayed but how many bits the machine processes at once. (not implying it will be a 128bit CPU)

I dunno, but it's kinda like talking down to it's audience.

rumors? nothing interesting

-They claim that an FF7 remake for the ps3 is actually in the works.
-Ridge Racer X360 Available for launch
-Sopranos the game
-Visual Concepts making a game based off hall of famers
-To combat rising dev costs, In-game advertisements will be the norm next-gen
-TC in NY

Here are the rest of the scores:

Killer 7 (ps2/GC) - 5.5/5/6
MoH:ES (multi) - 7.5./6.5/6
NCAA Footbal '06 (XB/PS2) - 9.5/9/9
Destroy All Humans (xb/ps2) - 7/7.6/6.5
GTA:SA (XB) - 9/9/9.5
Conker Live and Reloaded (XB) - 5/7/8
Advent Rising (XB) - 4.5/4/6.5
Kirby Canvas Curse(DS) - 8.5/9/9

They aren't sticking with that moniker, it was only ever a rumored title. Miyamoto himself has reacted differently when asked about "Mario 128" in various interviews, but almost all of the answers are that that it's just a nickname for the project. I know this sounds like the Revolution thing, hehe, but as far as Miyamoto has said himself there never was a "Mario 128" and he has apologized that this name has been hyped up so much.

I don't think the PS2 loading is enough to disrupt the flow....that is, anymore than the already CONSTANT and annoying loading in the Cube version....

..and so the thread was derailed.

RR X360 is awesome if its coming out quickly in the west (probably be delayed in favour of PGR3). Wonder if its coming out on PS3 as well - be interesting to compare.

FFVII - well, I don't really like FF, but I liked FFVII, and surely this one title would win Japan for Sony.

I though Duke Nukem forever was a Phantom launch exclusive! :lol

What? Are you seriously suprised?

At Coded Arms? Yeah. I thought it was supposed to be a good game. Maybe 7s at the least. It was put up there with stuff like New Super Mario Bros. at E3 for handheld gaming.

can some link to coded arms images. It sounds familiar but not. Is it the konami FPS?

Any other good stuff from interviews?

Actually I'm only assuming that news came from a Miyamoto interview. I assume there's an iwata one at least given 1up's recent news about old games on the Revolution maybe getting a visual upgrade.

Geez, Coded Arms was on of the big summer releases for the PSP, now there is nothing for the PSP I want that has an official release date, congratulations Sony. -_-

I'm just gonna pick up Meteos and Kirby this week and wait for Castlevania, Lost in Blue, Lunar DS and Advance Wars at the end of summer. DS as calmed all my PSP woes.

Anyway, having a Mario game at luanch is going to catastrophic, the last time Mario was released during a console launch was during the N64 and that alone skyrocketed the N64 to first place in it's first year. Nintendo just didn't have any support to continue their dominance.

If Nintendo has a solid line-up of games after the Mario launch, next gen is going to be interesting. :D

No surprise really... expect 4-5 "launch period" Revolution games from Nintendo...

-New Super Mario
-New EAD IP
-New Super Smash Bros (online)
-New NST racer (Wave Race, 1080, Excitebike, Ridge Racer or something totally new)
-New Metroid Prime

No interviews in EGM as such but plenty of quotes from all the key combatants in the console war article. On Revolution specifically a couple of myths are dispelled. Ethernet is an option and progressive scan is supported with Nintendo asking all third parties to make their games 480P compatible.

Why wasn't this mentioned before!? Ethernet an option as in their considering it?

Ughhh, Looks like I will be rev only. Well, I will get a PS3 for BR, since that is the only appealing thing Sony every produced. :lol
