There are some really old TAS videos from years ago of people racing & beating Koopa the Quick while at the same time getting the 8 red coins.
Has anyone tried this on their own for the fun of it? I did it myself yesterday night (barring the island coin bcz you can't use cannons during the race, I collected that before talking to Koopa). It took me 3 tries but it was real fun when I managed to beat him right before he got to the top.
