HYPE! And it's got Wii Sports-like motion controls as an option. Love it. Hopefully it doesn't control like shit (going from Wii Tennis to the latest Mario Tennis' botched motion controls was depressing as fuck).

And OMG GBA story mode / RPG elements is back!

I wonder how dreadful the online Implementation is going to be for this, just got Mario 3D world and its the worst I have seen Nintendo put out in years, you cant join people randomly doing a level you both have to already be friends and communicate when one of you is going to host... by downloading a separate app on your mobile to talk to each other....

While the core game looks fun, I am disappointed by the locales. They seem so much less interesting/bland than the 3DS Entry.

And this is what totally killed it for me, i don't want to play in real world looking courses the whole fun of mario golf was you played in worlds from the nintendo game universe. Shame really as the new speed golf mode looks like a lot of fun but i have no inclination to play on regular courses.

"Fun" is the word long forgotten by marketing teams in the west.
They still wonder what should they add to sell the games like Nintendo.

Some indie developers are just great though - felt like they were teleported to the future from ZX Spectrum/NES times.

I put a ridiculous number of hours into Wii Golf with my Dad, very happy that this could be a spiritual successor.

I never played the 3ds version. Just love the N64. This looks a lot like that one. I'll have to check out some videos.

Plus we have only seen a 3 courses. Seems like there could be many more.

I'm hopeful. Would be a shame they didn't create some cool levels based in Mario worlds. Imagine going back to Dinosaur Island from Mario World, or Isle Delfino. They have so many great destinations, but instead they seem to have chosen ones that seem rather... lackluster. Especially for a reveal.

If it's remotely similar to the Mario Golf that was on GCN, then this game will be a must own. Mario Golf on the GCN is straight up one of the best games I've ever played. It's so much fun.

Yea playing on Mushroom Kingdom or Hyrule-inspired courses would be better, if I want real looking golf, PGA Tour or the Golf Club is already a thing, why can't they be more Mario Kart like with the courses?

a bit underwhelmed by the presentation. I just feel like they could really amp up the uniqueness of the courses.
