Mario Party DS?

I find it funny that Nintendo seem to shit out sequels of this franchise which used to be good back on the N64 onto the Gamecube but yet there is no DS version! The DS would be a dream with this, am I rite? Touch screen based mini-games, wireless modes, microphone based mini-games and online multiplayer! I know the fun of Mario Party is in the multiplayer and nothing beats sitting on the sofa with three fellow players but this could be a game that really shines online + with microphone chat plz. I've never played the GBA version but yet I think the DS screams for a Mario Party. Would anyone else consider interest in a DS Mario Party?

What's the point of online play without voice chatting or any means of communication with others? It would be exactly like playing the computer, and the entire point of Mario Party is to be around some friends while having fun.

That said, I hope Nintendo retires the franchise for a few years and only releases one MP title for the DS and Revolution.

Voice comms would rock, the same in 4 Swords (I would get that on the day of release, no doubt!). I guess we won't see it till a Revolution Mario Party is released with a tie-in into the DS game. I imagine certain minigames being downloaded to each DS and then having to do them and then the information downloaded back to the Rev.

Thats just what nintendo needs isnt it, another mario party game!

Im actually shocked that they have not decided to make a mario party DS. It would have been the perfect exuse for them to release another one. They can say "look, you can move the characters by touching the screen, you will say wow"

The Mario Party series has a bad reputation, more because latest iterations brought nothing new to the original game, than because the original was bad in the first place.

This series still has great potential if handled correctly.

Now where did I hear that complaint before? Oh yeah! Mario Kart DS.

I do agree with you on Mario Party-part though. It's a party game, which you should play with people around you. Also, I think many games will never be completed. For reference, I can remember 4-hours long game-sessions with Mario Party 5 starting at 1:00 AM. Now I don't see many handheld gamers playing four hours straight without any people around them to keep them awake.

It's not a bad idea.

Launch a 100% touch screen Mario Party with an 8 players /1 card game and online with voice or text communication can be a huge.

Plus, the graphics can prove for everyone that DS can make better than N64.

For me, the NDS models a huge step from what N64 can do.

In a third generation NDS game, it’s can look still better.

I always thought the series improved with the GameCube iterations. The N64 ones were pretty weak in my opinion. Mario Party 5 definitely stands tall as the series' best in my mind.

4 Swords DS, or what do you want to say? They should make this game happen.

I'd love to see this
Mario Party Revo + DS, one and the same game
you can join the game with a DS and with the controller

i totally agree with this comment!!

this is hard to say because of how it continually sells very well. it definately has a bad reputation with reviewers though.

personally i want them to ditch that stupid boring board game part of the game. i NEVER play that except to unlock the minigames... then i just play that way where the first person to win 7 minigames is the winner! yeah~ that is REAL mario party. actually that would truly be the best mario party ever.. if they just ditch the board game and compiled every single minigame from the first seven mario parties into one game!
