Tag, you're it.
Mario and friends revisit famous board games in Mario Party Superstars

hero

A Superstar collection of classic Nintendo 64 boards

Calling all Superstars! Mario Party is back with 5 classic boards from the Nintendo 64 Mario Party games.
Frosting meets flowers as you race to get the most stars (and sabotage your opponents) on the Peach’s Birthday Cake board from the original Mario Party game. Or watch the countdown that unleashes Bowser Coin Beam and hold onto those coins on the Space Land board.
The tides can turn quickly in Mario Party, so stay vigilant, partygoers. This and all other modes can be played online, too!

100 classic minigames return from the Nintendo 64 and Nintendo GameCube games and more!
Try your hand at a Superstar collection of minigames from throughout the Mario Party series. Whether you are saving up coins for stars in board game mode or practicing in free play, there is nothing quite like being the last one standing in Mushroom Mix-Up or Shy Guy Says.
All minigames are played with button controls, so you can stick to the Joy-Con controller or bust out the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or a Nintendo Switch Lite system.

Party with superstars near or far
Bring the party anytime, anywhere with same-system, local wireless, or online play. Matches with friends in board game mode save each turn, so feel free to take a break and pick up where you left off.
Use stickers to praise or pester fellow players as you race across the board collecting stars. All modes support online multiplayer, so you can hop in with friends for a few minigames or a marathon 30-turn match.
Victory is just as sweet (and stealing stars is just as satisfying) from anywhere across the globe.

I love this! No bullshit gameplay changes just for the sake of "innovation", plus online multiplayer from launch and boards/minigames that we already know are going to be fun. I'm getting this as soon as it comes out, my mates and I can't wait and even my sister and my mum are excited as well!

I wonder if it will allow the Pro Controller to be used. That is my primary complaint when dealing with SMP and their JoyCon Only approach.

Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel. Yabuki turned off voice chat in Mario Kart races. True artists of their time.
Ya'll really hating on the fact that this is separate from Super Mario Party? Didn't they already add 90 mini games to that as free DLC? This is a remake. No need to merge the 2 games.

Ask me about my Stream Deck
Nintendo, to people who got Super Mario party:

Absolute lowest point of the show.

The audacity of announcing a brand new full-priced game just weeks after finally adding online play to the previous game that also desperately needs more content... jeez. Should have been DLC.

I was interested when I thought it was DLC for Super Mario Party but it's a full-priced release? $60? no thanks
This pissed me right off as I literally just bought the switch version a couple of weeks ago and there isn't enough content in that game. Seriously why isn't this DLC? Wtf

This was one of the hypest announcements of E3 for me. For over a decade now, I've wanted them to release a Mario Party game with 300 of the best mini-games from throughout the series and the best board in one game. They announced Mario Party The Top 100....only for it to be 3DS exclusive and ruined my life.

This announcement has filled me back up with faith. Please let the online be functional. This could be the greatest Mario Party game ever if it has ranked play and smooth online.

Ranked play lol. You're expecting too much. It'll be online play with only friends youve added.

No Silksong? = Delivering the pain.
This should be a free dlc for super Mario party to finally make that game worth the price of admission. The fact that this is a full priced standalone title is really shitty. No buy, can’t support this.

Super Mario Party was a little disappointing but I'm down for this. It'd be cooler if it had a couple more maps and included some Gamecube era stuff, but I'm just glad to finally be back to the original formula with online.

Can you play this on a switch lite
Yes, they specified that all the games work with button controls (though it'd probably be harder to do local co-op on one).

I could've paid 20-30 € for this as a Super Mario Party DLC. Now it is a bit of a tall order as I have Mario Party 5-7 available to play.

Ya'll really sour about not enjoying Super Mario Party as much as you expected? Mario Party went down hill after the GC (arguably N64) era, what'd you expect? Sell off Super Mario Party and get the good Mario Party--Superstars. 😎

If ya'll contact Target chat you can get $20 off SMS pre-order if you say you missed the B2G1 deal this morning.

Same. It was the highlight of E3, could barely believe it was happening when I saw it live…

My guess is that the maps will be:

Peach’s Birthday Cake (Confirmed)
Space Land (Confirmed)
Chilly Waters
Western Land
Waluigi’s Island

And I would assume a sixth map, an unlockable, gonna go with either Spiny Desert, Horror Land, or Deep Bloober Sea

Only FIVE boards?
MP2 and MP3 both had six boards and those are easily top five territory in the series

Keep in mind that the boards will play differently as well. The entire feel to each game played will be much different. I’ve been watching the gameplay and Mario Party Superstars is a lot more chaotic than the original MP, MP2, MP3; the boards and gameplay have been altered to allow for more attacking or sabotaging, more item use, more choices to consider given the accelerated gameplay which means more opportunities to make mistakes or exceed in whatever tactics and strategies you’re bringing to every respective match or game

There used to be a ton of blue spaces and this had players waiting for opportunities to strike as they gathered and earned their coins and items to do so. But now there are plenty of Lucky Spaces added to the maps which weren’t there originally. There’s a lot to gain with the Lucky Spaces but at the same time, if you go with Lucky Spaces then you are rejecting a regular Blue Space which might have a Hidden Block containing a Star. Getting too fixated in Lucky Spaces can also cost a player the Happening Bonus Star for landing on the most Event Spaces or Happening Spaces, so there’s that too; that the Lucky Spaces can be alluring and helpful but also detract at the same time what you are trying to do which is win each game
