Rumor from Deadline:

- Marvel’s ‘Jessica Jones’ Series: Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer & Jessica De Gouw Testing For Lead
I hear Marvel is assembling a field of actresses invited to test for the lead of the company’s straight-to-series Jessica Jones drama for Netflix. I hear it includes Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer and Jessica De Gouw. All fall within the age range of 25-33 listed on the breakdowns for the role.

Spearheaded by Melissa Rosenberg, the 13-episode drama — the second in a four-series Netflix-Marvel deal — centers on Jessica Jones, a superhero suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.

I also heard two names mentioned as being in consideration for the male lead Luke Cage: Crisis‘ Lance Gross and The Good Wife and The Following‘s Mike Colter. Cage is designed to appear in 6-7 episodes of Jessica Jones and then topline his own series, the fourth in the Netflix-Marvel package that includes Daredevil, starring Charlie Cox, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. The characters from the four shows band together for a miniseries to close out the storylines.

I'm crossing my fingers for Jessica De Gouw. I just love her in Arrow.

Though I'm not sure if she can act well as Jessica Jones?

So, I'm so confused -- are these actual shows that could run for multiple seasons or are they just one offs leading to a miniseries?

Alexandra Daddario is probally the hottest woman I've ever seen, but she's a poor actress-but she looks like Glen Close compared to Jessica De Gouw. De Gouw is just plain awful.

I'd love to know the answer to that. They've never said. Also with the pace at which they're rolling these out, It seems like it's only going to be one series per year.

They are probably open to both depending on the character and response.

I think it's pretty safe to assume Daredevil will get a 2nd season if it does well.

But for now, the plan is one single run for each character before bringing them together in The Defenders.

I think the best they've told us is these 4 shows will run leading into the Defenders

And possible of them going into MCU films.

Though.. yeah will be strange because like season 2 of Daredevil would be like 2017/2018 at this rate

Guess, people do long season breaks with Sherlock

And Jessica Jones has a very strong series engine (I'm not familiar with any comics, but just reading the synopsis). I wish Marvel wasn't so damn cagey with shit like this.

At least she's hot.

But honestly, I don't know much about Jessica Jones.

hot doesn't carry a show. We need a great actress for Jessica Jones. Honestly I've had a hard time thinking of an actress that I think would fit her. Her look and characterization have also changed since the initial Alias series to her "modern" look. In the Alias book she looked like Vic Mackey's wife from The Shield. Now she looks like a supermodel.

You can't run a 13-episode show like this the same way as Sherlock. You'd run the risk of losing your entire cast/writers.

Yeah. She won't be able to carry this show as the lead. Let's see who Marvel chooses. I just want a Daredevil trailer SOON.

Da Gouw almost made me quit watching Arrow and I love Arrow. She is insufferable and I don't think she has the charisma to play BMB's Jessica Jones, and I hope it stays true to comics.

I don't know, but these shows clearly aren't going to run back to back to back.

If they are only now casting the lead for Jessica Jones, and Daredevil premieres in May.

So I don't know.

I honestly don't know.

I think if the reception to Daredevil is big enough, they'll do a second season while prepping Luke Cage and Iron Fist in years 3 and 4. No one ever said they only get to have 1 season each before Defenders, we just know that they'll each get one.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure how they plan on handling this. Steven DeKnight (Daredevil's showrunner) has said he already has ideas for season 2, so we know its definitely a possibility. But all we know for sure is that Daredevil is coming in May next year, and I believe we know the order in which we'll get each show (Jessica Jones is next), but considering neither production nor casting on JJ has started yet, we're probably looking at two shows next year. So assuming we get the next two shows (Luke Cage & Iron Fist) in 2016, do they roll in the second seasons of Daredevil and JJ as well so that we get 4 shows in 2016? The logistics are all so weird but they must have thought this through already.

The order of the shows are: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and The Defenders.

DD is July 2015, JJ is supposedly 2015 as well. IF, LC and The Defenders were supposedly all 2016. So that would mean that a likely S2 of any of these shows wouldn't be till late 2016 at the earliest, but more likely sometime in 2017.

I was thinking that while DD may get a season 2, maybe JJ, IF & LC can all combine to a single longer series of maybe 20 episodes for a Hero for Hire show, making room for 2 new comers in the 4 shows + mini series Netflix line-up.
Make room for Cloak & Dagger and some one else... like Blade.

shame me if you must, but is she booby lady? Because even my GF was like goddamn when she was on the TV.

Personally, hearing that krysten ritter might get involved with marvel is kinda cool, i've liked her in everything i've seen her in

She was indeed the woman Woody's character was sleeping with on the side. Loved her in TD, she truly looked deranged towards the end of their fling.

lmao huntress in arrow is an awful actress, no faith in a show that entirely hinges on her. i doubt she'll get it.

Alexandra and DeGouw can't act for shit so ew to those choices

Agreed. DeGouw is so terrible.

Of the choices listed, I wouldn't mind Teresa Palmer.

Oh my god at Lemond Bishop being Cage.

I was thinking about that possibility last Sunday but man, he's so perfectly creepy on TGW that it's hard for me to see him as anyone else. Lol

Daredevil is definitely set for May. I agree with that 2015 schedule, but I don't think there's any reason why there can't be a Season 2 of Daredevil and JJ before The Defenders. Combining some of the shows definitely seems like a possibility in the future though I'm curious how they'll handle combining/dissolving/assembling the creative teams for those.

no

Krysten Ritter needs to be Death in Infinity War.

I thought we GAFcasted that to Olivia Wilde.

My bad. I meant May 2015. Ant-Man is July.

as far as combining show. If they know that's what they plan on doing before hand, maybe the creative teams for those are all 1 in the same, seeing as how they are supposedly only working on mostly one at a time anyway with probably only a little overlap.
