Teresa Palmer would be a total miscast. De Gouw is gorgeous, but an AWFUL actress -specially for such a strong, dramatic character as JJ-, Ritter needs to be Death in Infinity War (hi5, Pai Pai Master) and Alexandra Daddario IS Lady Hawkguy.

This is Jessica Jones. A weary, sick of your shit, late 20's to early 30's private detective who can kick the snot out of you when she's not getting plastered at the local dive, not some pretty young girl with a tuff side.
JJ requires a formidable actress, or at least somebody who is very good at selling drama, which is the central point of her life. Any less than that is bound to suck.
Grab the original MAX series when you have the time. It's a fantastic read with very little emphasis on superpowers. Very mature and dark as hell near the end of it, but also highly compelling. Amazingly enough, it is almost written as a TV show. I swear to God it reads like an actual pitch cum storyboard, which is why I've been championing it for so long.

He said "awful choices all around" though. I read that he wants her to be Death, which is itself a bad call - the reasons she'd be great for Jones make her not a good fit for Death.
Besides, if it's a woman that Thanos is thirsting over as a key plot point in whatever the fuck Marvel's trying to do - they're going to get a name bigger than Krysten Ritter. I don't know that they'll go after Jolie, like people are saying. But it's not going to be the B in Apt 23 or Jesse's smacked-out girlfriend from Breaking Bad.
She'll nail Jessica Jones if they give it to her, though.
edit: Tatiana Maslany can play anything, so I'm more than cool with her being suggested for Jess - but then again, she's not on that list, and if she was anywhere on that list, I'd imagine she'd be at the top of it.

Even if the show ends there, this is going to shoot sometime next year, so she'd be still contracted to Orphan Black.

As in if you took every single bad thing from 3 seasons of Arrow combined she is still the absolute worst my a wide margin imo.
Daddario is the only one that matters if all you care about is looks.

I think the plan is definitely to have 2 series a year (so JJ would also be 2015, but late 2015). I do wish they would explain if these series have a chance at second seasons or if they are just one offs though.

Considering stuff like Hemlock Grove got a second season, there's a definite chance of future seasons of these shows provided they do well enough by whatever metric Netflix measure by.

I have no doubt they will do well and that Netflix would want to continue to run them for years, they're Marvel series. It's going to draw a big audience. I think the bigger question goes to Marvel itself. They obviously have a plan for how these series fit into the MCU. Does that plan allow for them to continue running for multiple years? Or are they all just purposely 13 episodes each to lead to The Defenders prior to the Infinity War movie, and that's it?

Provided the deal is a profitable one, I don't think Marvel would turn down more seasons. I would point to Marvel continuing to do Iron Man, Thor, and CA movies post-Avengers as an example of that. And the only reason we may see those end is that the actors salaries rise exponentially more when their contracts run out. With a TV show, they can sign these actors for 4-5+ years at 13 episodes each and get quite a run out of them.
They certainly could restrict them to just these single runs but I can't see Marvel leaving money on the table if Netflix wants more just to fulfill a creative vision. I mean they adjusted the AoU plot due to Ant Man's difficulties.. I don't see why they wouldn't make some tweaks to allow for more profits with Netflix shows.
