a year apart???? WHAT THE FUCK!! seriously? So that basically means no DD season 2 right?
Hopefully they'll clarify the tentative schedule sometime soon.Daredevil will be followed by Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Iron Fist, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and a combined Defenders series, each to be released about a year apart. Free of content restrictions, the shows have more "leeway" for violence and sex, "but people shouldn't come to this expecting me to deliver the Spartacus of Marvel," says Daredevil executive producer Steven DeKnight. But "we're able to explore morally gray areas, where you're rooting for the bad guy and questioning the good guy, which is more difficult on network TV."
Y'know, I'm starting to get the impression this'll be more like five seasons of one show than five separate shows. I mean, we know that AKA Jessica Jones will have Luke Cage. I'd bet good money that she and Iron Fist will both show up in Luke Cage's show, and vice-versa for Iron Fist's. I could see Daredevil hanging around through all four of them. It's definitely not the usual "season" model that we expected.
Yeah. I wish Daredevil was a normal network show, or at least something on cableThat's ludicrous.
Does that mean if Daredevil gets a Season 2, we have to wait four years? Six years?
Confusing.
That's all I've heard from TCA, and it's difficult to parse that quote. Here it is again via USA Today:Hopefully they'll clarify the tentative schedule sometime soon.
duckroll said:It definitely won't be a year apart. Jessica Jones is confirmed for this year, and it's more likely to be fall than winter. We'll get Iron Fist and Luke Cage both next year (in that order), and probably Defenders in 2017, although with luck and fewer episodes, everyone already cast and in the swing of things, we'll get that next year also. We also won't have to wait until Defenders for more Daredevil. While his show will be pretty standalone, we know the rest will crossover a lot. We've got confirmation that DD will be in Jessica Jones; Cage was cast so early so he could make his debut there, so we'll see him before his show is even out.
As for multiple seasons before Defenders: personally, I don't expect it. If anyone will get one, it's Daredevil, since he's first and the only one with any significant name recognition. I expect he'll be the Iron Man of the team. It would also allow Bullseye to be introduced before Defenders, which is a huge plus.
I don't think these assumptions should be made so easily after the latest comments by Ted Sarandos: http://www.zap2it.com/blogs/daredevil_bloodline_kimmy_schmidt_premiere_date_netflix-2015-01
Regarding the staggering of the announced shows:
Fans hoping for more details about Netflix's Marvel plans were in luck, as Sarandos opened up a bit about the rollout of the five announced shows. He says viewers can expect them to come out "roughly a year" apart, with anywhere from eight to 15 months between premieres.
"We're not trying to hit a fall programming schedule or hit a grid number," Sarandos explains. "We want to give them enough room and enough time to make a great show. I don't want to set up a rigid time table."
This tells us that they're not in a rush, and that they're not pushing for stuff to hit specific windows. 8 months from Daredevil will give us Jessica Jones in Dec, which would still be 2015, but probably a more realistic deadline given that they haven't even started shooting yet.
We could be looking at Luke Cage in 2016, Iron Fist in 2017, and Defenders even later than that. Remember, aside from Daredevil and Jessica Jones, none of these shows even have showrunners yet. They haven't put the teams together, there are no scripts, etc. So it's going to take longer.
Regarding multiple seasons:
When it comes to what will stipulate further seasons, he says, "Definitely in how well we are addressing both the Marvel fanbase but also the broader fanbase who may or may not ever get into one of these series because of their own preconceived notions. One thing we have a really great history of is probably a combination of the personalized merchandising and the subscription model that allows people to be a little more adventurous about what they watch. We may find that an audience way broader than the typical Marvel audience will try and fall in love with these shows and with the Marvel brand, and it will be universe-expanding for Marvel too."
So basically, if a show takes off and people actually like it and want more, they will make more. I don't think it'll be bound by Defenders at all, because that is years away. Netflix will want to satisfy their audience demands first and foremost, not just wait up for some crossover thing.
I think Luke Cage will probably come before Iron Fist, since they've already cast the guy. I kinda feel that Jessica Jones might be a one and done. I don't see the point of taking something like Alias and making it last multiple seasons. Maybe two at most if it actually does take off?
Daredevil and Luke Cage are the two shows I feel have the most potential to be on-going multi-season shows.
Just got a tip that AKA JESSICA JONES is scouting locations in Manhattan and it's using the name VIOLET.
Yeah but notice how that title says 2015 and all the others say Coming Soon. So, while not confirmed, it seems likely.Nothing is "confirmed" here. These are just placeholders for marketing. The Netflix CEO has made it clear that they're not rushing anything, and they won't know for certain when something will be released until they announce the actual start date. The show isn't even shooting yet, so it could very easily slip to 2016. It will depend on how production goes.
Likely will be changed to an ex-SHIELD agent, to fit with the MCU timeline. (Also lets them use Bobbi instead of Carol if they want.)Glad to see the they kept the ex-superhero part of her story intact.

Plese break the 4th wall with him. It wont be as perfect as it was in the Comic, but please, just break the 4th wall.
The Purple Man Issues in the Alias Omnibus was the best Ive read in 2014.Eh. It made for some cool moments in that arc, but it served no real thematic purpose and felt more like Bendis trying very hard to come off as clever than anything else.

Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce that David Tennant will star as the villainous Kilgrave in "Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones," an all-new 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015 following "Marvel's Daredevil."
An enigmatic figure from Jessicas past, Kilgraves reappearance will send shockwaves through the former super heros world.
Still wondering who will be cast as The Iron Fist
This. I can't decide who would play a good Danny Rand. It will be the hardest role to cast in the MCU, I think.
They probably won't be casting Iron Fist until the Luke Cage series, so maybe by the end of this year? Long way to go.
How hard can it be to cast a young pretty white boy who talks smack but has a heart of gold? It doesn't have to be a known actor or anyone famous, and it would be a good break for whoever gets the role. Probably really easy to find stunt doubles too, which the role will require.
