Freaking stoked.
They will likely never be able to pull something off like this - and to this extent - in real life with the actual actors, so this to me, is a great idea.
If anything though, this confirms Galactus (I think) to be the next big baddie in the MCU universe, and that events of Loki by the end of it's season will cause the timeline to branch out freely which then leads into Doctor Strange sequel.

That's not what it is. It's based on a CLASSIC Marvel comic series that asked What If...? as it applied to major storylines. Like, what would have happened if Wolverine killed Hulk in their first fight (which was the first appearance ever of Wolverine)? They then turned that around years later:

It's exactly the comic premise, but applied to the MCU.

What If Killmonger rescued Tony Stark? (no Iron Man)
It's basically taking the nexus event concept from Loki and applying it to major MCU events, which is EXACTLY what the original comic did. And this is going to have some major effects on the future of the MCU despite being animated. That's why it's coming BEFORE Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

They were trying to get Tom Cruise to cameo in Doctor Strange 2 a while ago. No idea if that worked out or not.
Tom Cruise was going to produce and star in an Iron Man movie back in 1998 before it fell through and it would be a reference to that universe where that actually happened.

im not saying it wont sell, im saying its fallen off a cliff, the quality, its made for a certain audience now, before it was more enjoyable for audiences that likes movies too
Each episode is a standalone What If...? question about a specific MCU storyline.
I'm curious how internally consistent these stories will be with the MCU. For example, it makes little sense that Killmonger would help Stark unless it was solely to gain access to Stark weaponry to then conquer Wakanda and partner up with/resist Loki's invasion. Which would be an interesting development but I don't think that is where Disney would take it.
And giving Peggy Carter the super soldier serum doesn't seem like it would change much from Steve Rogers being Cap, unless the serum DOESN'T get destroyed and is then abused on the Allied side of the war, and she has to fight to hold back less moral (but on the "right side") supersoldiers.
I'm a bit concerned that these vignettes are really just "what if the white guys were replaced by their sidekicks" alternate realities that otherwise play out basically the same but hard to tell from that trailer. For me these types of stories are most appealing when it is same person/different environment or different person/same environment but things don't work out so well due to a character flaw. Illustrate how easily a drunk techno genius like Stark COULD go wrong with just a little push or how the power of Thor in the hands of someone a little LESS noble is a recipe for disaster.

Other than that I think this is a very cool concept, I will watch for sure.
If it truly is multi-verse and they want it to be cool and within the Disney realm, make one universe or episode's art style done in the Simpsons, lol

Hard to believe that Disney now owns God Doom and Marquis of Death. They are not worthy, even with a Trillion dollars.
They got most of the MCU actors back to do voices, except for RDJ, Evans, Larson, and Cumberbatch. This is Chadwick Boseman's final performance.

So 50 mins for a one-off what-if scenario for selected MCU hero....not sure how i feel, almost like Feige cashing in while the iron is hot.
Pretty sure these are 30 min episodes. And again, it's based on a classic Marvel comic and will likely be multiple seasons. The comic went on for years because there are always new points where they can do one of these from.

Over 160 issues in total from what I understand. So it was quite a popular comic.
They have started doing it again with Chip Zdarsky in charge, he said he was happy to do it but he wanted it to be more than 1 issue per "what if" scenario and Marvel agreed. The first story is up to #3 and it's called "Spider-Man: Spider's Shadow", I think it will be 5 issues. Then there will be another 4-6 issue what if story with another name.
what can be done in 30 min? Cashing in confirmed.
The original comics were 1 issue per story, 22 pages. Not cashing in, just a perfect idea for this format.
