He died during the Avengers Deconstructed thing Marvel had. Loki brought about Ragnorak and he died saving Yaggidril(sp). It sort of implied that the gods would be reborn at the end though so they could come back. As far as Captain Marvel, fuck you man, the death of Captain Marvel is one of the 10 best comics in history. I freaking cried when all the heroes showed up at his death bed.
