Wow, what a snoozefest.

I don't know if the ending will make up for it, but was bored with the first few episodes, and I'm pretty sure no one said "what if.." for any of these scenarios.
Really liked the first season, second season was weird and have no idea why they think Peggy Carter is so important.

That is what's holding this series back, and if there was one thing I would have done differently with the series, it would have been to hold this third season until after the next Avengers movie so they can take concepts in a more wild direction.

Which universe? All of them? I'm only asking because I would have placed this season somewhere between or maybe set it mid-Secret Wars. I could tell by the end of season 1 that it was being too heavily shackled by needing to coincide with the MCU. Season 2 made this more obvious.

It was tied to the MCU only because they used the MCU as the source instead of the comics, the stories they told didn't have to coincide with anything else because that's the entire point, these are what if's, alternate events where anything is possible, the actual MCU can just ignore everything about them.

All universes die in Doomsday. Then there's just Battleworld until Secret Wars does a soft reboot.

Reizo...even if we keep this to MCU, they have barely been using their gigantic amount of B-listers/C-listers and villains. Hell, they actually have free reign to put The Hulk in more adventures(since this is technically a cartoon and Universal has been less BS about Hulk cartoons), and he still barely gets to be in a few episodes.

Like what are we even talking about here man lol why are you defending this show? I feel like the level of interest in this season is so low that me, you, and M ManaByte are the main ones keeping this thread alive. I'm mainly keeping up with the MCU because I am a fool but I'm self aware enough to know this and know that they are at a really low point right now, especially in terms of writing.

Maybe I should have responded "I just said that" instead of "Right" idk.

They are being bound under the MCU, which is literally what we both meant above. They can't suddenly introduce Beast from the X-men even though he was literally in an end credits scene in The Marvels. They also can't show future villains like Dr. Doom because he hasn't been 'introduced' yet under Kevin Feige's grand plan.

That is literally being bound to the MCU and arguably, their timeline of movies. That is only freedom within the confinement of what they are allowed to create. That's not actual freedom, which is why this show has been falling flat with people because everyone knows the showrunners are not allowed to go any further than what they're told, only back or around.

Agatha's episode was good for me. It wasn't at all as occult developed as her show, but didn't really expect it to be with different creatives.
It does show the difference between an occult show and an occult inspired show. Jarvis seemed like a self-insert for the writers in that one. I'm glad this show is its own thing and doesn't change Agatha.

My main criticism is a minor peeve in the missed opportunity to embellish on the similar physical appearance between young Howard Stark and Jack Parsons.

The octagram in the center of her summoning circle, and the Arishem being pinned to an averse pentagram were nice touches, if maybe incidental.

Peggy Carter seemed important in the story for the same reason as Steve Rogers. A central anchor to ground the story to the world. Kind of expected the character to be involved throughout.

They should have made sure to insert Spider-man in each What If episode, and have him die in each one randomly. Because if its a What If story with spider-man, he will die in it.

"What if... Star Lord went to therapy?"
"What if... Doctor Strange was a nurse?"
"What if... Groot was a sentient bamboo?"
"What if... Wolverine was gay?"

What if...? was always a comic series that took known storylines from the comics and flipped them. That's what made it fun and interesting. The point of the show was originally to do that with the MCU.

I think they ran out of MCU storylines to base the show on at the beginning of Season 2 (the Iron Man S2 episode was originally in Season 1 also) so they turned the show into the Captain Carter series, and it sucked.
