It is uses the GranTurismo's transaxle and 4.7-litre V8 engine which develops 460bhp at 7000rpm and 383lb ft at 4750rpm. The Alfieri uses a bespoke exhaust system.

It uses Maserati's MC Shift automated manual gearbox with a limited-slip differential and Maserati claimes "optimised" weight distribution with slight rear bias.

It also uses the MC Stradale's carbon ceramic brakes and Brembo callipers.

Maserati is said to have targeted a kerb weight of less than 1400kg for the new car.

The concept features specially-designed 20 and 21in wheels with spokes inspired by the classic spoke wheels of the 1950s. The show car is finished in "Steel Flair" paint and accents including the brake calipers, grille, air ducts and tailpipes are painted in Maserati Blue.

The 2+2 cabin is influenced by the 5000GT and is built around a central screen. The instrument panel is a digital twin-dial affair and the floor is finished in a material that simulates the oxidised steel finish found on race cars from the 1950s.

I need to learn how to rap

Looks like an Aston Martin and a ferrari got together and had a baby. Good looking car right there

Not enough spoilers and wings and airducts and shit.

This cool looks impossibly good.

Edit: I'm leaving the Freudian slip as is.

Christ that's hideous.

Guess they looked at the success of the Panamera and decided that it didn't matter how a car looked, or something.

The headlights look a bit too much like the Vision GT's:

No bad thing on its own, but it doesn't seem to suit the front end of the Maserati at all.

They look too low down! This is roughly where I'd expect to see the lights on a nose/hood/bonnet like that:

Looks absolutely nothing like a Panamera.

They are similar, and they fit. Those lamps are aggressive, and do a great job of lowering the front end more.
Aston Martin called. They want their car back.

Or are we just going to ignore its existence?

Because Aston was the first to ever to a 2 Seater GT car. lol

I like the Maserati's headlights just fine right where they are. They give the front some character, just like the Audi R8 looks awesome with the low headlights.

The Aston has a fine arse, but other than that it looks hideously disproportionate, and with a rebadge it could be a BMW or a Marcos that has been t-boned.

Maserati hit this one out the park. Gonna be an uphill battle now to try and get one, for myself before I die.

With that said, it's rumored to be a F-Type fighter. Which means a lower price than the Gran Turismo (which is getting an update/replacement soon, too). That is, if this one isn't it.

EDIT - Dangit. People are saying it's replacing the Gran Turismo.

I didn't know Aston Martin had a patent on front engine, rear drive GTs. I thought these were coming out since the sixties. Maybe Aston should answer Jaguar's call. Unless we pretend the E-Type never existed. Or the Ferrari Daytona.

The early 2000's Maserati Coupe pretty directly aped the DB7, the front end mostly.
