Woot! Its still our game of choice at work - we only unlocked Nukov the other week (rafts are fantastic!).

I figured it'd be the end because these never sell that well. Fingers crossed for a PSP port - you listening Empire?

I love the name change. I remember Circuit Breakers in the UK became Dare Devil Derby in the US ::Shudder::

Where'd the release come from? i'm subscribed up to my ass onto all empire interactive stuff, but i didn't get it yet :)

WHY the hell did they put the Spong comment in???

Is this Xbox too? It says Xbox/PC at the end but that might be just the old game. The actual release only mentions PS2. I only have an Xbox for multiplayer stuff.

also, they need to be careful about the handling and weapons. The current ones are balance just right. Half the fun is the fucked up physics :)

mashed was utterly SHIT! yes, it was pure SHIT!

+ bad gfx
+ bad sound
+ bad controls
+ bad leveldesign
+ bad speech
+ huge loading times

i dont want a sequel, i dont want any game from supersonic again - > they should close theri office today. man, mashed was such a shit game. i traded my ps2 promo the next day. such a worse game doesnt deserve a place in my collection.

Whoa, opinions differ eh?

I love that game, a total hoot with friends!!! Maybe your problem is that they didn't come with the game! :) :lol (joke, teasin' ya, obviously without games it's not a very engrossing game)

It was a fantastic game, what are you on!?

Most of your points are valid - production values aren't great, voices are stupid, single player is meh. But the multiplayer is gods nectar itself. Great slidey physics, (get your arse out with L+R trigger and bump everyone about)

Its a lot like rallisport 1 in multiplayer.

fantastic game? sorry, then you must have played another version, then i had. the loading times (ps2) are purly horrible, the gfx (thats the renderware engine) are really, really poor with no details, framerate issues, this big blurr effect...

also the course design is really lame, i mean, there are no courses that really needs some skills to drive. also the gfx design from these courses are really bad, nothing special.

go and play micro machines - its way better, with cool course design, cool gfx, better loading times, better handling.... and it was done 2 years before mashed (2002).

i cant get behind the hype of mashed. to me, it was only awful.

I play the Xbox version. Loading is fine.

Graphics aren't great, but why care?

Tracks don't take insane skill, but then the single-player is shit anyway. When you are playing multiplayer, its the other cars and the interaction that matters, not the track. Even so, the good tracks are usually designed so that a good driver still has an advantage.

And what hype!? It was practically a stealth release.

i care for that, because it was a full prize release!

I care for fun. YMMV

media hype - look at some review scores. OPM2 9/10 some XBOX Mag 8.6/10

There is a difference between hype and critical acclaim.

As for micro machines coming out 2 years before mashed? Well Circuit Breakers came out 2 years before that, and thats the real ancestor of mashed - same dev team, same styles of courses, same insane amount of fun in multiplayer, same limited single player.
