Mask Policy at AMC Theatres (buy concessions and don't worry about the mask)

I was researching Tenet movie times/early premiere dates on AMCTheatres.com and saw this banner message:

Have to admit I'm surprised by the obvious concessions message here. I know AMC Theatres are struggling, and I absolutely don't want to see them go under as they're my favorite chain, but this seems a bit much.

I don't know, maybe this is the best they can do? Doubt there's easy answers for any of this.

Anyone else heading back to the movies?

A couple of the Drafthouses back home are running Tenet for the 3 day preview but not the theater that plays 35/70mm. The IMAX screen I like is still closed. There are zero showings that I could find here in the Bay Area where I’m working. I’m hoping the next time I’m home there will be a showing somewhere we can catch. I’ll eat some damn popcorn sooooo slow 😉

Ah yes the virus stops becoming dangerous when you eat pop corn.

See the virus is so dangerous you should wear a mask at all times. But eating pop corn and drinking soda stops the virus but only if you buy it AMC.

All those anti mask people should walk around with a bag od AMC popcorn and then when someone says they arent masked they can just point to their pop corn lol

Wouldn't eating -- with all of the gnashing, masticating, and lip smacking -- be more likely to spread germs than politely sitting there with your mouth shut? I get that they're doing this with the hopes of boosting revenue, but there's no logic in any of this.

Its going to be awkward working my mask back on my face with my greasy, salt-crusted hands after housing a large bucket of popcorn (in between complementary refills of course).

OMG I can't wait to go and spend $6 on a small bag of popcorn and $5 on a $0.75 box of candy! Let's fucking go!

Not going to any movie theater anytime soon. I just wait for the blu ray for my OLED TV that has better picture quality :)

Yeah, if AMC cared about us, they'd liquify the popcorn and coke into a tube system that goes underneath your mask so that it never has to come off and you can just have it pumped down your throat while you watch.

Covid precautions are only imperative until they conflict with profits.
