You can thank EA for doing nothing with System Shock. They own the IP and they're not going to do shit with it since SS was never a big seller. Eventually (if they continue to do nothing with it) Irrational, or whatever company Ken Levine is at, will challenge EA for the rights and win. Same thing happened with Brian Fargo and Wasteland.Dr_Cogent said:I wish someone would pick up the ball and do a continuation of this RPG FPS

Good times. Good times.
Like..... what big franchises?Bebpo said:...and my money is on several big western rpg franchises coming to PS3 exclusively. But we'll see.
Jade Empire 2 and Fable 2 *shudders* are 360 games.
KotOR 3? Nightrain insists it's PS3 exclusive but I'm a bit skeptical since, you know, Ridge Racer 6 is also coming out to the 360 and that Retro developed Revolution FPSer didn't blow me away last E3. (that rumor was from Nightrain right? or was that Aries?)
EA raped and murdered Ultima and Origin years ago.
Black Isle and Interplay are dead and the Planescape Multiverse has been discontinued by WoTC.
Fallout 3 is a possibility (although I think multiplatform is very likely with 2k Games publishing) but I don't know that I'd call Fallout a big franchise since it hasn't seen a big release in 7 years.
Gothic 3? PC
Baldur's Gate 3? PC, maybe console ports.
Divine Divinity 2? PC
Neverwinter Nights 2? PC, maybe console ports later.
Project New Jersey (Obsidian's other new game) is a possibility but it's a new IP.
Sure, there'll be another Snowblind developed Everquest hack-and-slash but I really don't see "several big western rpg franchises coming to PS3 exclusively" happening. Time will tell.
