Max Payne Official Movie Trailer

Was that scene at the beginning with Max drowning actually in Max Payne? Or am I just remembering something similar from Sin City....it all looks very familiar to me (that's a good thing, for me at least, movie going public be damned).

Fuck! Can't view this at work. I'm really interested in this movie, though. Max Payne is one of my favorite game franchises.

Actually seems to capture what max payne was all about, dark, gritty, noir.

and bullet time

My thoughts as well. It seems to be somewhat faithful to the series at this point and at least we know the action is going to be somewhat decent.

Wait... I thought this was going to follow the plot of the first game? No? I wanted to see that in film.

...which bit didn't look like the first game to you?

Looking decently good so far.

Just waiting to see how they implement bullet-time and we'l be golden.

Looking way better than 95% of the game adaptations before it though, effects are top notch, love the action sequences so far.

I might have missed the part where they reveal the reason behind his actions. Some stuff that I've never seen before as well.

That trailer makes it look like Constantine. anyone who isn't aware of the game's dream scenes whilst high on drugs (and that's if they are dreams in the movie) will think it's some fight against Satan. "The devil is building his army"?

at least they're using snow.

Yeah, if those are actual demon, then it's fucked, but it's more likely they are hallucinations, which makes sense if they are taking V.

You mean his wife and kid getting killed? How could you forget the dream level with the baby screams and following the blood trails?

Probably when he's high on V.

Still looking forward to it even if they removed Vlad. :(

Have no fear, Vlad is here!

=( You can't have Max Payne without Vlad...

Also, does anyone know if this is a retelling of the game's story or a new take on the series altoghether?

From IMDB

Coming together to solve a series of murders in New York City are a DEA agent (Wahlberg) whose family was slain as part of a conspiracy and an assassin (Kunis) out to avenge her sister's death. The duo will be hunted by the police, the mob, and a ruthless corporation.

Sound familiar?

Why do some have problems with the flying things? remeber the drugs and that Max payne is haunted by his own demons it fits perfectly. The way the game did the dreams might not be that suitable for a movie.

They weren't suitable for the game either, those dream sequences sucked balls.

This...doesn't look like completely shit and looks like the game.

Wow, that's a first. Even just that is a step forward.

Was that Marlo Stanfield in there?

Either way I was going to say it looked like a pretty good fit for Max Payne until the giant death angels showed up.

hmmm :|

trailer looks kinda cheesy but somehow entertaining.

Looking good. Mona Sax looks perfect. I'm going to avoid all threads about the movie on forums because people will auto-whine that any game to film adaptation is bad even when it's good(i.e. Silent Hill which was faithful to the source or the RE movies which are fun B-movies).

why is this on youtube? no higher quality quicktime and maybe HD?

I hope this and The Happening aren't enough to kill Mark's career. I honestly feel like this is a movie better suited for his brother (which I never thought I'd hear myself saying, but his performance in Dead Silence is more hard-boiled like MP).
