Mega Man X collection announced!

While no platforms were specified, aside from a vague mention of a multiplatform release, it's probably safe to assume the compilation will at least hit the PlayStation 2.

While Capcom reps remained tight-lipped on the specifics of the games in the compilation, it's a safe assumption that old-school classics such as Bionic Commando and Final Fight are candidates. As with the Mega Man X Collection, Capcom didn't specify which platform the game would be coming out for, but a PlayStation 2 version is almost guaranteed.

Ok, yeah, the NDA was lifted Friday... but No MMXC thread was made here, was it? I would have seen it, as I am drawn to all things Mega Man...

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Drat! Between by two seconds.

Yay. Hopefully they won't be retards with the controls on the GCN version.

I'm excited about the Classics collection. I still have the G&G Generations disc for the Saturn.

Hopefully Final Fight won't be censored in the US like the fucking GBA one was.

HAY GUYZ: Final Fight and Bionic Commando are merely speculation from our friends at GameSpot. "Safe assumptions" perhaps, but not based on any sort of official information (as far as I know).

Speculation is so much fun.

RE seems too new to become a part of a classic compilation. I was thinking CPS2 games or older

I can't believe nobody has spazzed out about the inclusion of Megaman Battle and Chase yet!

I was a fan of the original import and couldn't wait to get the (allegedly fully-translated) US version at the time it was supposed to be released, so naturally I was really disappointed when it got cock-blocked by Sony. I guess this shows that Capcom are willing to dig into their obscure reserves for cool unlockables, which is pretty exciting to hear. Could Megaman Soccer be next? Tron Bonne?? RockBoard?!? :O

Edit: Never mind, I see someone did bring this up in the other thread. Though he didn't exactly spaz out to my liking...

I still remember the ad that Capcom ran in magazines about the game. I was wondering why the game never came out. Hopefully it turns out to be a good game.

TALK. You don't just say this without a source. Where is this confirmed?
Why the Gaming-Age forums of course! ;)

Legends is not a confirmed unlockable.

Mega Man Legends won't be in the collection. Let's kill this before it becomes a rumor, and everybody gets all disappointed when they discover that its not true.

Everyone: "Hey, where's Mega Man Legends???"

Capcom: "W-WHAT??"

I'm hoping for a completely totally arcade-exact Ghouls N Ghosts

( the ones on Capcom Generation 2 for Saturn and PS1 were not 100% identical: slightly different and crappier ending music, missing a frame or two when powering upto Golden Armor, resolution difference.)

a totally exact Final Fight (GBA, SegaCD and X68000 are not exact)

a totally exact Forgotten Worlds (never ported even close to exact)

Is there any reason to hope that Capcom is developing this internally?

I mean, I always assumed that MMAC was developed by Atomic Planet because it was a western-only release... perhaps contracted by Capcom USA. This sounds more like something that Capcom plans on releasing in Japan and the rest, and thus more likely to fall under true quality control.

Heh, if some of those excellent ports don't satisfy you, you're going to shit a brick when you get htis collection and see everything is running in a godawful interlaced mode. Or better, with good old bilinear filtering.

Mark my words. They'll fuck the graphics up like in just about every other 2D retropack this generation. :D

Street Fighter 2010 was an NES only title, wasn't it?

I wouldn't count on any non-Arcade games being on the collection. But I could be wrong.
