Messi leaves Barcelona

I wouldn't have minded him leaving 10 years ago (being a Madrid fan) - but really... a good run, Messi. Respect.

Same here, Madridista hasta la muerte (though the fact that he is argentinian always conflicted me a bit hah). But an absolute genius. 2nd best player of all times.

Can't wait to see him play with Neymar again.

He's obviously going to PSG to destroy farmers, should go to juve, its a once in a lifetime opportunity for 2 goats of a generation to play together

Some outlets claim, Barca is still in talks with fat fuck tebas. Messi is, was pretty much the only reason to follow La Liga.

I do find it funny those expecting Messi to play for free because he loves the club. Why should Messi even be in this situation?

It wasn't Messi who spent over a billion dollars on useless flops and their wages, financially ruining the club. He shouldn't have to be the one to make sacrifices when he is the primary reason Barcelona is still a competitive team.

Imagine being the primary driver of revenue and footballing success, and yet being the only person at the club making a personal financial sacrifice. It'd be insane.

Yesterday he was on vacation with half of PSG team players.... I mean.... who knows.

Saw that. That's his most likely destination.

Although, I'm not sure how PSG could afford his wages and still keep within FFP rules. Yes, he'd be a free transfer like the majority of their signings this summer, but the wages for these players are astronomical on top of a wage budget that was already over 200 million euros last year.

Parody of actual AJUMP23
Sunderland or Ted Lassos team should get Messi, he would be great in either of those documentaries.

What a predictable bore. The midget is still going to be at Barcelona next season, and who really cares? Barca have been utter garbage for years.

Kind of thought Joan Laporta was always a bit of a snake but actually he comes across as a quite sincere and honest guy.

I don’t know anything about soccer, but sounds like a Messi situation for Barcelona without their best player.

I am so pissed about this I'll vent in Spanish and then make a summary in English:

I'm basically pissed off about the Barcelona's front office and ranting about how Messi wasted some of his PRIME years on that club, no happy endings on that club unless you have a Catalan or Dutch ID. It is what it is.

I think everyone here is very curious to know what your hobbies are lol.
I play some videogames. I like to ride my bicycle. But I would say my main hobby is the romantic pursuit of the ladies. :messenger_blowing_kiss:

Seriously though, the way people get into sports teams is just strange to me. I don't quite get it. When I was younger I used to like the Cubs (an American baseball team) but then the MLB went on strike and I've never really been able to get into sports since then.

Ah okay.

Well just to put this in perspective, basically Messi is mathematically the most special human being alive right now, in terms of the fact that he's the best of the all time in the most engaged with activity/profession in the world.

So it is a very significant event when he is forced to leave a club which he has been at since he's a child, because of incompetent book keeping and mismanagement.

Cute, no one cares about your life. This isn’t a thread for you.

PSG are locks to sign him, especially now that financial fair play is no longer a “thing”. Apparently the negotiations are already done and an announcement is in the wings.
