Yeah, that would make sense. It's a shame they didn't attempt to re-do the sprites, but then again, Metal Slug sprites would be difficult to re-create and the budget is probably low. I'm not suprised...

They should outsource that I think. Outsource the sprite stuff to some artists in a 3rd world country.. I think they would do a good and cheap work redoing the sprites with someone supervising them.

I think most hardcore Metal Slug fans are so disenchanted with the series in the first place due to the fact that Koreans made 4 & 5.

The series art direction have been slightly worse for each iteration. It totally crashed between 3 and 4, obviously, and hasn't recovered.
