Yup, while metroid's artistic origins for the most part are japanese, Retro's andrew really put an universe around it, which western artists are more known for, while japanese are more character centric. And i find it amazing, looking at the 70+ image gallery i unlocked that for the most part, the actual game visuals lived up to the artist' view, which is something very very rare.
MP2's sanctuary level is my favorite of all time, my jaw litterally dropped when i got to the room after the sanctuary entrance where there's a save room on the right, the chamber which you climb to the top, when i took the time to press R and look above me it was simply gorgeous, in both the light and dark world.
