Link fixed.

I shudder to think of the N-fan clans that will be spawned by this game...

However, I'm extremely excited for this. Ever since E3 2004 I've been dying to get the full version of this game into my hands.

I lack any faith in NST and the demo played like any old FPS and nothing like a Metroid game (well, aside from the morphball bits), but it's had a long time in development since then and that video a bit back didn't look half bad.

I await this with trepidation.

You really should think of this as an FPS and not expect a traditional Metroid experience. I'm not too interested in this game myself because of that. Not a big FPS fan.

The bottom screen looks really bad, like it was done with MS paint or something.
Given the extra dev time this game has received, that is inexcusable.

I realize you won't be looking at it 90% of the time, but they could have at least used some rendered backgrounds a la MP Pinball.

NST better not ruin the Metroid Prime name =[

think non-GL quake with mouselook. looks about the same, too, albeit with only 4 players in a game as opposed to 8.

WTF?

Anyways, the game looks really solid. I was a huge fan of the touchscreen controls of the demo, and after all the possitive press its been getting, I'm really pumped for this game.

Ahh, the bottom screens differ depending on what character you select, apparently? Neato. The demo from over a year ago only allowed you to play as Samus.

Umm, 4 player doom deathmatch (lost countless hours playing that on dwango) was fucking fun back in the day... if I still played it today, it'd still be fun. Don't hate the game for that reason atleast. While FPS design has definately evolved there's nothing wrong with a little throwback. Serious Sam co-op kicks ass because of that.

"Doesn't really look like shit anymore.."

Actually it still does. So you have some big grey blob and some red lego blocks...and...that's about it.

C'mon now, thatlooks completely shit.

Why, cause of the 2D explosion effects? Look at everything else. The architecture, the enemy character model... For the DS, that's amazingly good.

If you put it that way...

These screenshots look like shit, play the demo to see what it is really like, much better in person.

This game looks like it is going to be rather large, I wonder if it is going to fill a game card.

Well I was doing, and then that video confused me.

I really, REALLY hated double tapping the screen to jump though. No matter how pretty the game is, even if reviews say it's just like the other Prime games, I won't buy it unless that's been fixed/improved.

Opinions on this game's graphics on both this board and others solidify the saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and "Beauty is only skin deep".

To some people, it looks ugly. Low textures, iffy geometry, muddy resolution. To others it's very beautiful considering the inside (the DS) shouldn't be able to do this.

To me, I think it looks very good. Some of the models are blah, but overall (AND ESPECIALLY IN MOTION) the game is a work of art for a DS title and has huge potential.

I can't wait

And those who says it looks ike crap really ARE picking the worse of the bunch. A lot of the pics are not only smooth, but the scope is also nice.

yea, i have to agree, you guys seem to be looking for the bad pics and ignoring the good ones. cmon now. this looks good

It's looking pretty solid... sure, it isn't the best looking game in the world, but this is the DS people, not the PSP.
