MGS3 for PC?

Kiriku

SWEDISH PERFECTION
Is it really coming? I remember reading about it some time ago, but it seems to have vanished in the shadows of MGS3:S for PS2.

that would be awesome! for some reason I find myself unable to play MGS games on the PS2 ... so much more tempting to play on PC (via the NGC controller) ... do it konami ... DO IT!

Oh my god! I'm currently playing MGS: The Twin Snakes and although it's an amazing game I'm constantly cursing over how bad the GC-controller is for the game.

Yar.

Cube control is excellent for many games..... MGS is not one of them.

Probably not possible, I'm afraid. Buttons have been added to the gameplay and require pressure sensitive presses in many cases. MGS2 also had this requirement (to a lesser degree) and forced you to map quite a few additional buttons making it impossible to duplicate the proper control scheme on a dual shock 2. With fewer buttons on the GC pad, you would not be able to configure it properly.

The GC controller has an awesome analog stick, but its button layout does not work well with MGS. Twin Snakes was pushing it, but managed to work. You probably could not even duplicate that control scheme on the PC, if Konami's previous PC works are anything to go by.

I was able to pretty much able to get MGS:2 PC to work just like Twin Snakes ... had a blast with it. Maybe Im just too spent on the PS2 controller ... the cube controller just makes games fun (I know everyone here hates me now ... doh)

MGS3 is more reliant on button sensitivity than the previous games. And you have to use the DPad for movement at times, which means using that GC's tiny ass DPad.

Gross.

well if (crosses fingers) Konami does release MS3 for PC, I'll be sure to let you all know how it works with the NGC pad ... and you all can make fun of me more ... -_-!

I don't see why it wouldn't hit the PC eventually. I mean, the other 2 parts eventually did.

Maybe they are waiting for Vista...

Well Kojima has mentioned recently that he's not really a fan of porting because he thinks its unfair to the gamers to get hand me down versions. It could happen but I wouldn't hold my breath.

It probably wouldn't have anything to do with Kojima. MGS1 and 2 both made it to PC without his help.

and seeing MGS2 in its high rez glory definately didnt feel like a hand me down ... imagine MS3 in high rez ... !

MGS3 on other platforms isn't happening...and you'd have to be braindead to actually WANT to play the game with the cube controller.

It's a hand me down because its not built for the system, its just ported to it. MGS3 was built for the PS2. It was designed completely aroudn that system, from the graphics to the controller. His point was its not fair to put something that was designed for another system onto a different system instead of just making something completely new for that different system. That way you take advantage of what it does best.

A PC can do what PS2 "does best".
