Michael (2026) Official trailer

You are just spouting fake news dude
If he was or he wasn't i don't know but he should never have allowed himself to be put in that situation in the first place.

Also no way in hell if i was accused of such evil deeds would allow the estate to be paying them off. Its a bad look.

He ended up in court anyway.

Any new songs or material being released from the film? Michael had left a deep archive of songs which I'm surprised they haven't released or sampled.

The dude playing Michael is the definition of movie magic. He is so fucking incredible it overshadows everything. I have never seen anything like this, it's like young Michael got into a time machine and made this movie.
I know there's an army of makeup, CGI and sound people behind him but what the fuck.

I hope Jafaar has a great career after this. He was so good.

Listening to a shitty posthume cover song instead of one of the hundreds of original classics MJ put out is so fucking Kojima that i can't even be mad at him.
What a beauf.
Actually that is the demo MJ made in 1982. It was released on Thriller 40.

Never knew of Captain EO until the other day... Bro what the fuck. One of the best MJ songs is stuck in a Disney theme park attraction.

I gotta see Michael though soon, literally the greatest of all time.

Are you talking about Another Part of Me? If you are, it's on Bad. We Are Here to Change The World you can watch on YouTube.

To explain my posthume comment a bit more, i only know the youtube clip version of the song, and to me the musical arrangements sound much more "'modern" than those of the 80s. I did not even know he made a full demo version at the time. If someone has it please share !

I think I like the 2010 version more than the demo. Its interesting that they made this music video at the time but didn't release it. It was only uploaded on Youtube after someone leaked it.

Edit: I removed the links because the next post has them and more.

Okay so the original Yellow Magic Orchestra version used in a Seiko commercial

Then they made it a full song, without much lyrics

Mike took it and added lyrics about a girl/love song, and then wanted 50/50 of the royalties, which YMO refused

Then MJ's keyboard player, Greg Philinganes, based his own version on MJ's demo

Which was then covered by Eric Clapton

Then, after MJ's death, they released a remixed version of the song based on MJ's demo

Quite a exhaustive summary of the song history, you just forgot to put in the part where Kojima tweets the remixed song like a twat and i mock him on Neogaf.

Jokes aside, I actually like this demo version, it could obviously not go on Thriller but still it is a nice little song.

No. He claimed to have "another 100 Billie Jeans" - yet all of the leaked songs were unfinished melodies.
I mean, he was one of a kind but only cooked with water like the rest of us... :(
Best you can get are the remixes:

Michael Box Office Passes Nearly Unheard-Of Milestone In Week 3 While Conquering An All-Time Chart:

Lionsgate has now announced that Michael is expected to close out its third weekend in theaters by hitting a cumulative global box office total of $570 million, comprising $238.9 million from domestic theaters and $331.1 million from international markets. This means that the movie has more or less simultaneously become the second music biopic ever to pass the $500 million global milestone (after Bohemian Rhapsody) and the No. 1 music biopic of all time in North America (passing Bohemian Rhapsody's $216.7 million domestic gross).

I know a movie's going to a billion when random people at my job are talking about it. Top Gun Maverick, Avatar Way of Water, now Michael.

Much of my preteen years in the late 80s/early 90s was me jamming out to MJ songs on my sony walkman. That and the nes were my two prized possessions at the time. Good times.

Glad to hear the movie is well done, was going to wait till it came out on stream but might hit the local theatre this weekend.

'Michael' Sequel: Lionsgate Film Chief Promises 'A Big and Satisfying Movie' With 'Most Popular' Music Still to Come:

Lionsgate, the studio behind the film, told investors and analysts on a quarterly earnings call on Thursday that it is hard at work on a sequel.
"We are really excited about the progress we're making with respect to a second 'Michael' film," Adam Fogelson, the company's film chief, said. "All the conversations that we've been having with all of the appropriate parties continue to go exceptionally well."

"He also noted that things might not be chronological. "We can go forwards and backwards in telling this story," Fogelson teased."

""We think we've got 25 to 30% of a second movie already shot from the prior production activity, and so obviously that will have some [financial] benefit ultimately, but we're going to make sure we make a big and satisfying movie for a global audience once again," Fogelson said."

'"Michael" carried a production budget of more than $155 million. It has grossed more than $700 million at the box office, making it one of the biggest hits of 2026."

if they keep rolling forward with sequels, it gets a little awkward what they have to start covering...
They legally can't cover the 1993 thing. As for 2005 I don't know what they do. Many fans seem to want them to show it and prove MJ's innocence. I wouldn't be suprised if the movie does a big time skip in the 2000s. After Invincible album and the 30th anniversary show in 2001 they might just skip to 2009 and the movie ends.
