Microsoft has pulled its $1 Game Pass trial ahead of CoD BO6 release for 14 days

Microsoft has pulled its $1 for 14 days of Game Pass trial ahead of next week's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 release date.

Mirroring a tactic it employed ahead of last year's launch of Bethesda’s Starfield, Microsoft has now made the $1 introductory offer unavailable. It was previously available only to those who hadn’t subscribed to Game Pass before.

Microsoft is clearly hoping to capitalize on the release of Black Ops 6 straight into Game Pass as a day-one title, and it seems likely that hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people would have used the $1 offer to blast through the campaign and perhaps dip into Multiplayer and Zombies had it been available. IGN has asked Microsoft for comment.

The Game Pass tiers that include the release of Black Ops 6 are the $19.99 a month Game Pass Ultimate, or, if you’re on PC, the $11.99 a month PC Game Pass. The $14.99 a month Xbox Game Pass Standard tier does not include day-one releases, and so won’t include Black Ops 6.

Can't have people play the campaign for a dollar
Which is stupid. Who cares if they do that? If that is enough to get them to try GP for the first time, isn't it a good way to introduce new people to the service? Forcing a full sub for 14 days is really, really petty.
The price difference between PC gamepass and gamepass ultimate, both of which get you the same batch of games will never not make me laugh.

I switched to ultimate to try streaming. It is not worth it. My kids still want to play the games on my PC because of lag.

This is the same as Sony cranking up the price of Horizon back up, so you can't buy it cheap, then buy the remaster for $10.

If you've got a problem with one of these but not the other it'd be a good litmus test for being a fanboy.
I didn't think it was possible to open the thread and find that it's turned into a defense of Horizon Remastered's honor by post #12. You've impressed me.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

A 7 year old game's retail price being increased is the same as not getting a $1 subscription trial for a new game.

If you drink coffee in the morning, you have to say Horizon is a great game or you're a hypocrite.

It shows you they are aware of the potential for people to jump on the trial just to play a new release. Smart move. I'm honestly surprised they haven't cancelled the $1 thing all together at this point and moved to giving trials with devices instead (much harder to abuse, but basically the same thing). @ AJUMP23 AJUMP23 I wouldn't go nearly that far.

Sony gave the game away for free.
And this is a cheap trial thing they've been doing for ages, doesn't mean they have to keep doing it.

And that’s due to the factor that MS still wants to charge people money to play online on consoles just like Sony

The biggest scam of video games . Their biggest games don’t even run on their servers .

Just a pure scam. And they can’t do that on PC, so you see the price difference of 10$ or whatever

It’s my number 1 reason why I don’t game on consoles .

Fuck the graphics difference between pc and consoles . Who gives a fuck if it has better texture and 20x zoom or not as clear as the pc version. At the end of the day fundamentally I am playing the same game ( talking about online games )

But you ask me to pay 100$ + per year just to play online ? Shove that console up ur ass one transistor at a time.

It’s bad enough the games on these consoles sometimes twice the price of them on pc if not more, you also want to scam us just to play online.

Right . That mentality from the ice age of Xbox first gen needs to stop

I've never seen a more conditioned consumer base... not sure how people didn't riot when this was announced. Literally the backbone of this brand and they charge you the most for it... On the other hand, I totally get why they're doing it, it just wouldn't sit well with me.
