The prototype was cool but impractical, the original Xbox was already big enough as it was, let alone putting that monstrosity in the living room.

I'm glad Tito's work has been recognized, the work he put into making the replica was impressive.

Not bad, first post in just to come by and shit post in what is kind of a cool happening

You wouldn't need to build anything, just slap an Xbox sticker on a VHS player!
I actually liked the first Xbox quite a bit. It had quite a few games at higher res vs competition, built in HDD was great, a bunch of great games that weren't available unless you had a gaming PC, and a lot more.

Hell, I even liked "The Duke"!

the only real issue the Duke had was the dpad design, which was probably made by someone who never played a video game before.

Yeah, that kind of sucked. A lot of folks were complaining about size though and I felt that it was just right. To be fair, I have pretty big mittens, lol.

my hands are pretty average, and I also never had an issue with the size. maybe when it first came out, when I was a wee lad, I had a bit of an issue with it in long play sessions, but even then I don't remember having any real issues with it.

the Controller S had a better Dpad, and had better ergonomics for more hand sizes, but I hated how they fucked up the 6 Button layout.
they should have improved on that layout and not completely change it. black and white were way too hard to reach during fast gameplay moments on the S

Maybe the design isn't ideal, but it's a nice reminder that consoles are also toys, and that with their exterior design, features, and games, they should make the user feel special. I don't want a cheaper pc in my living room, I want a toy with its own identity.
