if im not mistaken we did have a rumor Sony is going to acquire a big publisher as well few months ago?
we should just wait for all these acquisitions to happen. too many insiders with too many rumors.
 
I just don't get the hardon for Japanese devs. MS just need to embrace their Western roots and forget about this folly. Doing what they are currently doing (getting some games like Dragon Quest, Yakuza, Octopath etc.) is the best thing for them to do.

I don't know anything specifically, but he was on Game Informer for years and is a source of dozens and dozens of articles. I forget the specifics, but he's connected and lives in San Francisco.

Not giving any reason to believe in such a rumor, but I would rather not have Sony or Microsoft touch them and infect them with stupid policies and western bullcrap. Let them do their games/art free of their bullshit ideas.

I think it's just a basic understanding that MS is no where near finished purchasing content. They've said as much. Not sure how that counts as a prediction or inside information at this point.
 
MS should talk to Konami to license their dormant IPs. That's the scenario where gamers win the most, instead of acquisitions. Hell MS should buy Konami IPs. They can focus on casinos, hotels and pachinko.

You said he's reliable but don't know a single thing about what he was correct about? So in other words, he's full of shit like most of these other fake insiders in the industry. He's saying the most obvious shit. How is any of this inside information?

The rumor was misguided, it was thought Sony was buying SE but instead it was SE selling off their Western studios to Embracer. Sony buying a big publisher right now goes against Jimmyboy's recent statements so they'll have to wait until the ABK deal closure is a for sure thing, anyway.

On topic, this isn't new or surprising. Phil has stated his interest in Japan for a long time now and he has only increased his mentions of similar things lately, even explicitly saying that the pending ABK acquisition has no bearing on their future acquisitions and they're not looking to stop.

These "insiders" are just regurgitating known info or embellishing current rumors.

but i thought SE sold off western studio to Embracer because SE looking to offload the "cost" before acquired by Sony? but then its just rumors./

I said he's connected and has broken stories for years on Game Informer and on twitter. I can't recall from memory what he reports on because I'm not a loser who commits Imran Khan stories to memory. If you want to know feel free to google his name.

I get your point. I can't recall his stories specifically. Game Informer's been around a long time. I forgot. I just remember he's reported on shit to the point that I noticed. But this thread is about pretty vague and basic stuff anyway. I could predict this one.
