Can't you make it a little harder for people to hijack my browser? I run "hijackthis" everyday and there's always new stuff in there, not to mention the adware programs that seem to be installing themselves without even a yes or no screen. Never had these problems with mozilla or opera, i hope some company makes a 100% IE compatable browser soon.

Yeah i will give that one a try, i used to use other browsers but i kept running into sites that wouldn't display right. I will give firefox a try right away, i've heard good things.

I'd say service pack 2, but the final made my IE rather slow, so go firefox. I still use IE though, just because I am used to it and I can tolerate a little slowness here and there.

I'm having to use Firefox at the moment as Opera is doing something stupid (it won't recognise my keyboard), but is there anyway to get the mouse shortcuts from Opera into Firefox? It's really pissing me off not being able to go back or forward a page by holding right and left clicking or vice versa.

It's also not blocking the sounds from ads, and I can't find an option to make it do that. Doesn't seem quite as fast either.

God I hope Opera is working again when I reboot.

i think you'd be better off using a mouse gesture extension. There's pages detailing keyboard and mouse shortcuts (it's FF-centric), but there's no mention of what you're talking about:

http://texturizer.net/firefox/mouse.html
http://texturizer.net/firefox/keyboard.html

Speed up page rendering:
http://texturizer.net/firefox/tips.html#oth_rendering

i haven't had a problem with sound from ads myself, but you might wanna look into the AdBlock extension (http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/#adblock), as it has blocking features beyond the defaults. i don't have a need for it myself since the default works quite well.

Thanks, I found something in the extensions section for the mouse gestures at least. It's come built in with some, but they're pretty shit, how is it a shortcut if I have to use my keyboard too?

For those of us who keep one hand on the keyboard, it's a shortcut. :D

Ah I suppose it would be. Personally my other hand is occupied with twirling metal objects around my fingers. I think it's a nervous thing.

Ermmm back on topic, the mouse getures are working now, thanks. Now to try the speeding up thing.

Well so Firefox has worked for all the pages that other mozillas and opera couldn't, looks good so far. The extensions are very cool, looking for a Theme site with picture previews, it's anoyying to have to restart the browser to chnage themes.

One thing though i can't seem to stay logged in to this forum.

Honestly, I've found that Safari>Firefox>IE as far as displaying pages correctly. IE can't display div layers or PNGs correctly. Firefox can display everything correctly, but Safari has even fixed small errors in my coding and displayed the page correctly despite the fact that I left out a "!" or a ">". I deleted IE right away :p

Go to tools/options... , click privacy, and mess with the cookies settings a little. Personally, I have it so that I only welcome cookies from originating site, and then deletes them after i am done using firefox. I also whitelist certain sites for cookies, like this one and google so i don't have to enter my password in all the time.

Can i modify how many lines the scroller on my MX500 mouse does? In IE it does 3 lines which helps when scrolling up and down long forum pages but in FireFox it seems to only scroll 1 line per, quite annoying. Also, thanks for the tips about tabbrowser extensions is fucking tight, makes browsing so much easier. :D

Know where i can find it? I keep finding links that lead to dead links which wont download and install the extension.

Is firefox really that spantacular if you gotta download little shits for every little shit you want to do? I haven't added anything to my opera install, only changed what's there and it's orgamsic(save a couple of pages that don't open).
