This would probably be centered around a Rockets/Knicks game (Matrix, CK, this means you!)...but I'm going to try to catch a bunch of the sights in and around NYC.

Just bored right now, and I've been wanting to travel for a while now, and just haven't had the cash. I may still not have the cash, but if I do, I'm gonna try to go around this time.

Looking at flights...

Thu 20-Jan-05
Continental Flight: 1232
Depart Houston (IAH) 9:14 am
Arrive New York (LGA) 1:30 pm

Continental Flight: 233
Mon 24-Jan-05
Depart New York (LGA) 6:50 pm
Arrive Houston (IAH) 9:45 pm

Total price for this trip: $237.20

Hotel, I can work with my aunt on that, as she works for Marriott.

Knicks tickets...
That's gonna be the hard part. :p
Ticketmaster pretty much has 1 seat left. and it's courtside, which isn't too bad I guess. Except it's only 1 seat. CK said he'd go...Matrix may pony up the cash for his ticket...so, I'd need 2-3 seats. (checks "ticket agencies" and ebay)

Other stuff...
Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, yadda yadda...

One of the following
Code:
What? Blue Man Group
Where? Astor Place Theatre
When?
Saturday - 4PM, 7PM, 10PM
Sunday - 2PM, 5PM, 8PM
------
What? The Producers
Where? St James Theatre
When?
Saturday - 2PM & 8PM
Sunday - 3PM
------
What? The Lion King
Where? New Amsterdam Theatre
When?
Saturday - 2PM & 8PM
Sunday - 1PM & 6:30PM
Hehe this is some expensive stuff...but...whatever. I want to see The Blue Man Group most out of the 3.

And I'll think of more stuff later. Anyone care to give ideas on what other cool stuff besides the usual tourist-ish stuff?

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
Go see the Lion King I cannot express enough how awesome it is...especially if you've seen the animated movie and can compare, contrast, recognize generally what's coming next. Brilliant performances though IMO Scar takes the cake, gorgeous costumes, I think there are even some new songs but I can't remember for sure...

Hell, tickets to the Producers here in Houston were friggin hard to come by. :(

I had an opportunity to go opening night...but had prior plans and was unable to go. :(
Was never able to get tickets to the show afterward.

Carlos: I'll bring Beltran along with me, then we can take him to an alley somewhere and steal his wallet. He'll never want to go to New York ever again.

:p. Again, this is all no where near certain of me actually going, but I want to...and I will actually have some cash by the end of this year...so yeah.

eh, fuck all that tourism shit, it's all about the bars and women. But if you want to go the tourism route, just avoid Central Park, haha. The only thing good about that place is the cigar store not far from it. :lol

See Avenue Q. And if you're seeing any show, stop at the TKTS place on Water or in Times Square.

New York City rules.

damn
you must got money

knicks tickets and the lion king?

the lion king tickets are like 100 dollars and up.

and yea central park is pretty wack....i think a couple months ago there was some dude out there randomly poking people with a needle that had aids on it.

be careful in time square, its usually pretty normal and safe cause juliani had a cop on every block thing going on....but i think a month ago or something, cant remember, some fool was going around just cutting people up with a butcher knife or some shit, and he sliced up like 4 people before cops got him.

One thing you want to do in new york is EAT. there are SO many restuarants and SO many different types of restuarants with SO Many different types of GREAT food. Its gonna cost you, but its worth it to have such great and different cuisines.

I dont really goto see the plays and stuff because I cant afford that shit.

I cant really afford to do much in new york. =(

but hey, if you come between november 20 - 22....you should goto the GIANTS and FALCONS game in Jersey, AND buy me a ticket. Il go with ya...and il take you there on the sub, il even get you a metro card...just buy me a ticket. :D
<edit>
nevermind just noticed your plane tickets are for january.

peace

I'm not a drinker...but, I may let my guard down when I'm there. Mig Gone Wild! :p
But seriously, I just need to get the fuck out of Houston for a while.

F2BB: No, I'm not rich by any means. I'm pretty much pooling all the money I've been saving up for a laptop, plus whatever I can sucker out of my parents/aunt/grandparents.

The easy part is getting there and finding a place to stay. My aunt works for Marriott and her friend works for Continental.

Heh, I just realized...

Sunday, Jan. 23 (CBS and FOX)
AFC and NFC Championship Games
Maybe it'll be Giants vs Bucs & Jets vs Texans? :D Haha...man.

Anyway...I should find out if I'll have the money to be able to go in the next 2-3 weeks. If I do, I'll start making all my reservations and all...and let you guys know so you can parade me around town. Carlos, I'll make sure to buy you a Astros/Beltran jersey.
