We have some exciting news for our PlayStation®5 community! Today we’re launching the first preview of a native version of Minecraft for the Sony PlayStation®5 – and we need your help to test it!

If you own the PS4® version of Minecraft for your PS5®, you’ll be able to access and test this early version by navigating to “Settings” and then “Preview” within the game*. This preview includes the new Tricky Trials Update, so you can venture into the trial chambers, meet a breeze, craft a mace, and more – all while trying out a version of Minecraft that’s designed for your console! As this is a preview version, we’ll need your help in hunting bugs (and we’re not talking about the silverfish spawning from trial spawners), as well as gathering any feedback. You can find out more about how to submit this below!

*PS5 Preview will start to roll out at 9:30am Pacific Time / 18:30pm CET. Please note that it may take a few hours for you to see it enabled on your device.

Don't really care much about Minecraft, but that ray-tracing update did make it look really good at the time.

I might bite if they add VR-support as well.

The Xbox Series Doesn't even have a Native version....
The xbox one version probably already runs natively on a Xbox series. A new native version for PS5 likely just means they won't be using whatever compatibility layer that lets a PS5 play PS4 games so that it can probably access features not available from it being a PS4 game e.g. dual sense activities, etc. Microsoft already treats X1/Series games as the same game.

Will this have ray tracing?
I remember that thing was a big hype among a certain folks which was supposed to show true Series x power. It was never released in the end, even though they showed demo with RT running on Series X. I wonder what happened, is it because of the little ugly brother?

The Xbox version did get a 4K patch recently from what I can see. I doubt RT will make it to consoles considering how demanding it is. Maybe on the PS5 Pro.

So, Minecraft apparently already has PSVR 1 support?
Never knew that.

Wonder if that means Minecraft PS5 will have PSVR2 support?

Haven't heard anything about PSVR2 support for it yet.

If you're looking for a similar game on PSVR2 then try Cyube.
