Mini review for controllers/stick/converters with Street Fighter AC

Okay so I recently got 2 things; Xbox Magic Box & SF Anniversary Stick. I'm going to review all the controllers I've used with Street Fighter Anniversary Collection and Xbox Live. Hope this helps somebody! I've tested them all on and offline. However, I've only tested with SF2, so I'm going to assume SF3 works the same or better, since in my experience, SF3 lets you pull off moves more easily anyway.

Disclaimer: I've heard plenty about converters and lag in general so I can't guarantee you'll have the same results! However, I specifically played extensively with the converter and tested for lag. Each controller was used on and offline with 10 different people. I cannot vouch for other converters as I only have this one!

Xbox Magic Box
Xbox Magic Box is a converter that converts Saturn, PS2, and Dreamcast to Xbox. Here are the controllers I used with it.

Dualshock2 pad
+No perceptible lag
+Easy to find
+Decent pad
-Not the best button scheme
-No communicator slot
Notes: Works great. Was expecting lag from info at SRK but didn't get any unless the connection was bad and that was game lag (ie - a minor pause in the action) not input lag. I personally am not a fan of the button scheme though.

Saturn Pad
+No perceptible lag
+One of the greatest pads (w/ 6 button control scheme!) so its easy to bust out your favorite combos
- No select/back button (can't choose certain colors)
-No communicator slot
Notes: My fave works great!

Tekken 10th Anniversary stick
+No perceptible lag
+Combos easy to pull off
+/- Ball-type Joystick
-Clicky (joystick clicks a lot, not a - if you don't mind that)
-No communicator slot
-Impossible to find unless you already have one
Notes: Since this also uses the PS2 port, I was expecting lag with this since many have had problems using converters but I had absolutely none. Combos came out smoothly and timing was great.

Here are the other controllers I've used:

Controller S
+No lag (obviously)
+Great pad, SPD's come out easily
+Communicator compatible (obviously)
-Bad grip
-Terrible button scheme, L/R not made for SF, B/W too small, indented, and out of reach
Notes: Plays fine once you get used to it, but there are better options out there.

Old Xbox controller aka Duke
+No lag (obviously)
+Communicator compatible (obviously)
-Serviceable, but not quite good, button scheme. B/W are too small and oddly shaped to use easily. With practice you may have more luck than I did as it IS 6 button.
-Pad sucks. Difficult to pull off maneuvers.

SF Anniversary stick
+No lag (obviously)
+Nice stick, controls well, combos come out easily
+Communicator compatible
+Also works with PS2
+/- Baseball bat type joystick
-Really friggin big
-Pricey and getting hard to find
Notes: Nothing to complain about besides price and size.

I'm still finding constant competition at all hours even after a few weeks so I'm encouraged. If you stopped playing due to lack of controllers grab something from above that suits you and give it a shot

Nicely done reviews overall. I personally find the Controller S's dpad to be superb :)

Now i wanna hear somebody's take on the the Street Fighter Anniversary joypad! Oh, and if anybody has a NeoGeo controller, throw in yer comment as well.
