man, Bow is WAY.. WAY more OP than any other MH game, for sure ll be one of my two mains.

the new dodge skill, infinite power coating, homing arrows is super OP and the "volley arrow" now plants explosives on the monters, than u use R1 and detonate everything for massive damage, just soled Ray Day without carting once.

Quietly, don't make noise, everything is fine, everything is great. As a person who has always played with a bow, everything suits me. Why create noise and scare Capcom with balance? :messenger_beaming:

Enjoyed the gameplay. It feels a lot like World to me, felt right at home using dual blades. The mount feels kinda awkward since it reverts back to auto-pilot but I was able to get the hang of it easily enough. Very unimpressed with performance, enough so that I'll probably skip this until the inevitable expansion + sale comes along in a few years. Played on a 4080s and 10700k for reference.
The opening zone is a lot of shades of brown and left a worse impression on me than the first one from World (ancient forest I think?) I assume the other zones won't look as drab

I fixed my crashes. It was my GPU overclock. This game seems very sensitive to it.
Anyway for a game that looks this poor, the performance is utter dogshit. I wonder if it'll even improve at release.

The game's Steam discussion section is nothing but people complaining about performance. Some of them with specs even weaker than a PS5. I don't know what they were expecting. Capcom was very upfront on how demanding the game is going to be.
man, my specs are a bit lower than PS5 and i cant even load textures in this game, it locked me at lowest and don't let me try anything else, optimization is sit and there is no excuse

Played on PS5 before and now playing on PC. This game doesn't look very good even turning OFF Upscaling and having everything on High. Distant details look terrible and super blurry.

Turned everything to Ultra and the same thing.

Disappointing performance as expected on an 11600. Even with frame-gen it can drop in the 70s and there's constant stuttering when running around. While the framerate on PS5 was quite low in quality mode, it actually managed to feel much more consistent without the stutter. I'll wait for the final version and to see how it runs on the pro before deciding where to commit.

Rightfully so,the game looks like a 2018 game and runs like hot garbage. I've seen more performance discussions on DD2 than on this pos which deserves it way more.

It's embarassing how bad this is.

Capcom being upfront about them being shit at optimization doesn't excuse them from criticizing how they are shit at optimization.

We all wanted “next-gen games” from our favorite companies, but when they give it to us, they make us remember that on consoles, “next-gen” has always equaled 30fps.
How is any of this next gen though? Everything is basic, under detailed and primitive as fuck. The game is just bolted together and made to run through sheer brute forcing. Next gen looking games exist, this isn't one of them.

So you need a 7800 3d to stay north of 60fps without frame gen. Good luck with that.
Capcom need to change that Engine ASAP or start hiring devs that know how to optimize their engine, the game dosnt look anyway "nextgen" to be this heavy

F* Horizon FW, looks better, bigger, more dense and runs better on my Rig than thin pile of shit

Eh, not so long ago...
A topic that has aged like fine wine. (Never trust presentations, trust final products)
Honestly, nothing surprising happened. Everyone knew perfectly well what engine this game was on and what you could expect from it. Especially considering how everything went with Dragons Dogma 2.
And now we see and read all the same technical reviews that were for DD2, since essentially nothing has changed, and nothing could have changed. For some changes it was necessary to either completely change the engine, or rewrite the RE engine for open spaces, as we see, this was clearly not included in the budget.

This game should be the main example as to why pushing frame generation as the default requirement is insanely bad for gamers as all it results in is developers stop giving a shit about optimizing and just release unoptimized pos that have no reason running this bad because they can just say " well hurr durr you didn't activate frame gen thats why you play at 30 fps on a 4090,not because we can't code for shit"

Frame generation only feels somewhat decent on a controller,on m+k it's a lagfest.

Now imagine every developer taking this stance on their games and requiring framegeneration for any decent performance.

Capcom better sort their stuff for open world games with RE new iteration because this looks bad for them after so many amazing releases with RE Engine. I thought they would have things ironed out after DD2 but it looks like they didn't benefit of anything from that as DD2 runs much better with the latest patch. Unless they have things being worked on but only for the release date and day-1 patch, but I won't hold my breath.

Over 100fps on ultra settings DLSS 1440p for me. If I turn frame gen and DLAA on I get 140+ in the base camp.

Overall impressions....I'm day one babbbyyyy on PC!

I am not really to picky about fame rate and graphic, but god they need to do something with multuplayer, MHW:i multiplayer is bad enough, this game even worse, most of time i get R359 error when trying to connect with other player

Game looks great if you have specs that can run it. Otherwise you might run into some of the images posted above.

Character Creator is nice. Layout for selecting Male/Female and the Voice was confusing. You have to select a preset unless I missed something obvious. And Voices alternate between male and female instead of something simple like Male 1, 2, 3 and vice versa.

Nice hairstyle selection of short, mid, long styles and great hair physics. Jealous Dogma 2 didn't have these.

Played up to the Battle Toad. My impressions are that the Melee weapons feel slower and most of them feel like you are clipping(lack of hitstopping) through enemies instead of hitting them. I much prefer hitsparks and more meaty sounds when hitting monsters.

I primarily played HBG and it's good IMO but I very much dislike that I cannot switch ammo types while aiming unless you hold both LB and LT. It's doable but it is very obnoxious.

A great thing that is gonna make things easier for me is HBG and likely LBG will have amazing mounted combat as you can use your gun on the mount and kite the boss like a loser. You cannot use special ammo while mounted so I suppose that is fair.

Will need to test if you can use different ammo types and whether or not you suffer recoil on a mount. Could be a game changer.

With Gunlance Charge shots are different since fully charging a shot uses all your shells. I'm fire too used to charging up a single shell before chaining into a another one. Not too keen on this change. I do like you can Wyvern Fire blast more often and can decrease the CD by attacking and especially by shelling.

What I really like about Gunlance though is you can use shells while moving. I am pretty hype about that.

Other then GL(primarily Shelling) I probably won't touch Melee weapons at all unless they give hitsparks and more hitstop so you know you actually hit the enemy. So offputting.

Music sounds unmemorable and weak to me. Too soft? Not really feeling the victory theme after clearing a quest.

Managing items in your tent or item box UI needs some work. I don't like it that much.

Might get at launch. Undecided atm. Will explore later. This will probably be my Dino Crisis at home.

Yea the only memorable theme was the theme when you re chilling in your tent ⛺😂🤣

did the first hunt before you get to the camp, and it feels better than rise, but still not as good as MHW, it's like MT Framework was a match made in heaven for MH, it just felt tighter and smoother somehow.
The graphics/performance are all over the place too.
I'm standing in the camp looking at the handler and the framerate is ~45 fps, 40 when that sandstorm thing rolls in, but no matter what setting I chose, high - lowest, the fps doesn't budge, even 1080p > UHD does nothing for the frame rate.
The high texture setting seems bugged too, there's literally a single square below my character that's blurry as fuck, but the rest of the ground seems ok, but then everywhere else I look are random low res ass textures.
could also just be my old ass driver though.

Holy FUCK this game looks atrocious on series x. I feel like I'm looking at a switch or series s version.....

...still love the game but will deffo not be double dipping like world.

Spent 2 hours with the game now (PC) doing the intro and roaming the wilds and I´m definitely done with that beta....

The game looks absolutely terrible. If this beta isn`t 90% placeholder assets with a backup lightingsystem and very bugged draw distance and texture loading (because everything looks so low res that this seriously can´t be intentional) then these are easily the worst visuals I´ve seen in a AAA open world game since ~mid PS4 era. And while looking like garbage it`s easily as demanding as CP2077 with high RT settings. If the release version isn`t a total 180 from this then this will be the first MH since the PSP that I´ll be holding off from purchasing day 1. This is far, far worse than DD2 was at release.

If you`ve only played retro pixelart games in the last 10 years....sure. This low poly texture mud is with "maxed out" settings.....

Hunted doshaguma and it was cool enough I guess, but when I did it again in a 4 player hunt, it felt a lot like world; performance is absolutely terrible though, capcom needs to figure out how to make this run better, can't even imaging how bad things are on console.
I also don't like there's no monster tracking like in world, just monsters immediately on the map like in Rise.

This is so incredibly disappointing to hear. MH Wilds looked GREAT back in 2017 when it came out. I hope they delay MH Wilds and improve the graphics as exploring the beautiful environments was a big part of the appeal!

Yea. Definitely unplayable on my end. I can play space marines 2 on Max but I cnt play this... Sucks cuz I really wanted to dig in the beta

What are you guys doing to improve your performance? I dont want any hits to visual fidelity. Just want to improve the fluidity. Playing on a 4090 13900k at 1440p. the 70-120fps aint cutting it

This is a shocking failure on Capcom's end. So utterly arrogant to beta test a game in this state with full launch a mere 4 months away. They are fully intent on repeating the DD2 blunder. It's going to be even worse as MH is tenfold times more popular and important to Capcom. RE Engine implemented across all Capcom development teams has turned out a bitter mistake. This should have been on the same engine as World. People loved that game and Guiding Lands proved the engine was not that limited.

I doubt even a 6 month delay can change much now given how little DD2's performance has improved.
