It's very easy to find fanboy reviews online, as there are millions of anime fans out there. However, there must be some professional sites that are just a bit better than that. Help a guy out? Basically looking for a place with a ton of reviews on anime films and series.

animeondvd is a good resource for news and whats coming out, but I wouldnt put weight in to theire reviews. At All.

It is unfortunate that there's no such professional database for anime reviews. Animeondvd probably has the most reviews you're going to find on the web, but they tend to spend a little too much time scrutinizing things the non-hardcore anime viewer won't care (as much) about instead of the actual show itself.

Oh come on, they actually gave the Urotsukidoji series an A! :D

Wow. That's certainly pretty exhaustive. Thanks Jason. The reviews do seem a little harsh sometimes, but I can live with it.

I'm going to have to second Dead here: AoD is a decent source of news, but their reviews are practically worthless. Take everything with a serious grain of salt. If anything, I'd say their reviews are too lenient, as Chris Beveridge is willing to give god-awful crap a B+ without hesitation.

Basically, there really isn't a single major source, so be prepared to read a lot of opinions by people who shouldn't be allowed to express their opinions ever, in search of the occasional gem. Alternately, as GAF - you'll get a pretty good cross-section of opinions and can hopefully find someone who's tastes jive with yours.

For simple reviews by score and a huge library of titles - www.animenfo.com is your first stop.

There is a site I used to frequent year or so ago, only problem is that they don't really update too much but they have most US releases. Some reviews are quite pretentious and full of itself, but other than that, everything that is 4 and over (on a scale of 5) usually is that good and justified by it. It's over here - http://www.point-blank.cc/

But as FnordChan said, if you have a request about a series or whatever, just post a topic in here and you'll get honest replies.
