The ending of The Road I wept. Not lump in throat or choked up, I wept. I was a new parent at the time, so it crushed me like a ton of bricks. No idea if it would now, don't care to find out.

Hereditary. The long shot of the son waking up in the dark room. I could hear a ton of people in my theater start going, “oh shit” and such as everyone’s eyes adjusted to the darkness of the shot and they saw what was above him…..

The Zelda scene in Pet Semetary. Just watched it again last night.

Really effectively tapped into my dread super sick people and nursing homes.

The live burial scene in Kill Bill 2. The lead up is intense, then you are in the casket with Beatrix. The movie theatre goes pitch black, all we can hear is her panicked breathing while dirt is thrown on the lid, then the muffled sound of Bud’s truck driving away. Sheer terror sets in but the audience is offered relief with a flash back to the cruel tutelage of Pai Mei.

(To think people used to be buried alive on accident, for whom the bell tolls…)
