Most money spent in a arcade in one day?

In recent memory, I spent $28 for a day of playing Beatmania III 7th Mix at a Michigan arcade. Good thing I did, too, because the machine left about a year later.

I think about five bucks or so back when Marvel VS Capcom (1, PS: MVC1 > MVC2) was big ages and ages ago.

I've never been able to hang out in our miserable ass arcade for too long, the extreme ammount of annoying people/noise usually gets me out pretty fast.

At least $35...many times. During my sophmore and junior years of high school, my friend and I would go to the local arcade just about every saturday. Usually spent about $15 there, caught a movie, and then got some fast food.

DDR+Movie+Wendy's = Grizzly Heaven.

Between GameWorks and all of the casinos, Vegas has a complete supply of arcade games. You could get a full pass at a flat-rate if you're going to be spending some time at the same place, though.

First time I went to an arcade district in Tokyo I remember being ¥5000+ in the hole by the time I went home. But it didn't help that every game in the strip of arcades cost ¥50-200.

Those GameWorks flat rate specials are a godsend. A friend and I used to head up every week when they'd have a 10pm-midnight special for like $15, playing LA Machineguns until I couldn't feel my arms anymore and stumbling off the platform like a newborn fawn trying to find its legs.

Unlimited rides on Sky Pirates, the three story hot-air balloon game, too.

Perfect for keeping costs at a minimum, and you didn't have to feel guilty walking away from a machine after 30 seconds if you were getting bored. ADHD ahoy!

I don't have an exact number, but you could've fed starving kids in Africa for a year with the amount of money I dropped on the TMNT, Simpsons, and Rad Mobile arcade games.

I spent $40 at an arcade a few months ago on one of those lighthouse prize machines. Those things are awesome. I won a red GBASP and Super Mario Advance 4.

Probably $40 when SFZ2 originally came out. At college we used to go to the local arcade (RIP) every Friday afternoon-evening and play the shit out of it.

I don't remember the most I've spent across 1 day, but I do remember going to the arcade, spending maybe a buck or two on average on various games at best. Then one day we got in Crazy Taxi around the time it came out in Japan (about 6 weeks before any other arcade had it) at the Sunnyvale Golfland one Tuesday (6 tokens instead of 4 for $1) and I remember hearing everyone brag about it on IRC from Japan. I tried it... next thing I knew, I was $25 poorer and have no idea where the time/money went. (it was 3 tokens/game)

I did a search on the Japanese sites that night and whipped up the first english Crazy Taxi site the next day.

After living in Osaka for three years, I wanted to go to a Namba arcade (the one above Mother Hall, for those who are familiar) and play the full-size F-Zero AX machine on my license for a whole day before I had to leave the country for my new job. I budgeted 5000y for the day's gaming. Unfortunately, someone else was hogging the machine when I arrived, so I only managed to spend about half that much before I had to move on (millions of things to do, as I was moving away). I still haven't gotten to bring my GC memory card to an arcade and transfer my AX pilot over :(

Multiple occasions between $40 and $60.

The sad fact is that virtually none of that was fighting games, since all the good arcades have been drying up in middle America. But I did get good at HotD2 with dualies !!

I spent about $30 - $40 at an arcade that had Beatmania IIDX 7th style, Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania, Keyboard Mania, DDR, Dance Maniax, and Para Para. That was a great day and I hope to do it again this Saturday.

80 bucks on NBA Jam. The reason I remember this so vividly is that my gf at the time came to pick me up (around 60 dollars in). I not only told her to go get me more money, I then had the temerity to ask for a ride "later on tonight, I'll call you when I'm done".

Needless to say we're not together anymore.

Unless I go to an amusement park (rare) I usually spend about $5-10. Most of it goes towards Third Strike and LA Machineguns (because the indy arcade scene is dead, and they're largely stocked with racers, which I don't touch.)

Let's just say I was grounded for a whole summer one year because of fucking The Main Event.

"insert credit to continue" + first time ever having an ATM card + 7-11 = lots of trouble

A few years ago spent about 12 hours at Gameworks in Ontario racing against buddies and strangers on their 4 linked Daytona USA cab set-up. Total cost = around $250.

Ouch! I feel for you man. It must have extremely painful to have lived in Osaka for 3 years then on your last couple days there, spend all day on an F-Zero AX machine, then suddendly kiss the country goodbye for good. I would have cried. Looking back now, was the new job you went to really worth it?

Back in the days (read early 90's) my friends and I spent around $5 each on Crime Fighter and I'm pretty sure we beat the damn thing.
